The funeral was beautiful. It was the first military service I've ever seen. They did a 21 gun salute, and I started crying when they played the taps. They gave the flag to Yvonne, and she was sobbing the entire time. It was shorter than I thought it would be, but it was still really nice. We actually drove around for about 1/2 an hour after the service today...mind you, it was not by choice, we were lost, but DC really is quite lovely.

I was really sad I couldn't go today, but I'm so behind in my schoolwork and scheduling classes and all that ... ugh. I hate that anything could stop me from going, and that I couldn't be there with you today.
