Ugh. These Cold Eez Tablets, or whatever they're called, are nasty. They're supposed to prevent/subside cold symptoms. So far, they just taste really bad. My mom has been sick for the better part of a week, and although I've been taking as many precautions as possible, I think I may be catching whatever she has ( Read more... )

You're so right. Remnds me of a Pilger article, where he intereviewed a whole bunch of press about the Vietnam war and the atrocities that the US marines were taking part in over there - since there was no internet and instant satellite reporting, they only reported what they deemed to be newsworth and what 'people back home wanted to hear'. Therefore when all the prisoner abuses and war-crime type stuff in Iraq happened, people are acting all horrified as if they're once-off or new. Nope... it's been happening for years. And probably will continue to be.. it's just that soceity, and the media, accept it on "our" side.

It just seems like it's impossible to find reliable journalism...it's all been corrupted in some way or another

And those who do it properly with reliable reporting get ridiculed or fired etc, which is sad.

agreed. Take Ashleigh Banfield (sp?) for example...she questioned the US Media's coverage of the Iraqi war and the network fired her...she was reporting live from Iraq in the heart of the fighting. It was ridiculous.
