Taking the bet
Or
How many times can the lass be dropped on her head?
Or
Learning humility does Agg.

By Luci Byrd

Have you ever met a person who you were sure could learn nothing, to hyped up with their own self worth and ego to listen to anyone else? Well when Heather had just finished her Rite of Passage none of the Fianna ever thought she would learn anything. She was a strange girl to begin with, her hair cut short and dyed in a multitude of different colors, piercing that could be found all over her body, and an attitude of superiority that radiated off of her in waves. Most people would avoid her on the street without the added feeling of her being Garou. So here was this Cliath, so far called Acts-First-Without-Thinking, who really needed to be taught humility. So the local Fianna Ragabash decided to challenge the girl to a drinking contest. The looser had to go seek out an Adren named Walks-Alone and learn a lesson in fighting. Well when Acts heard that Walks-Alone was a Theurge she scoffed at the idea that he, even though two ranks above her, could ever teach an Ahroun about fighting. So Acts-First took the bet, confident that even in this Ragabash were to somehow win the contest that a Theurge would never be able to beat an Ahroun. So, predictably so, she lost and set off to find Walks-Alone. When presented with this young egotistical Ahroun the Adren was much amused, even though he did his best not to crack a smile at her. On their first encounter Walks-Along quickly landed the young Cliath on, what the Fianna like to call, her arse. Walks-Alone then sent the young Cliath back to the Ragabash so that the Ragabash may see if the lesson took. Well, Acts-First being the hard headed Ahroun that she was learned nothing. So the Ragabash had to again challenge her to a drinking contest, and Acts-First lost. Again the Ragabash sent Acts-First to Walks-Alone. Again Walks-Alone landed her on her arse. To make a long story short, this went on for a few months, until finally, exasperated (the joke no longer funny) the Ragabash turned to Acts-First and asked her “How many times can I get you dropped on your head before you understand humility?”. Acts-First eyes lit up in anger, then she took a deep calming breath, and simply stated to the Ragabash “It has nothing to do with humility, you could have said I needed to learn that along time ago and saved me a lot of time rhya.”. From that day on it seemed that the lessons had finally allowed some sort of common sense to overtake the young Ahroun, and she began to see that she was not the end all, be all of Fianna but it takes all kinds of Fianna to make the tribe up. In honor of her lesson well learned the Ragabash named her Takes-the-Bet.
