Happy White Day, Everyone.

Jimmy Eat World - Work

It was white day. That meant the entire school was flooded with everyone running around with those stupid little white ribbons and giving them to each other. Naruto still had his that the school had provided for him (the teachers gave everyone a few to give out or something...) But Naruto didn't really know what do do with his since there was only once person he'd give it too. He never got one of these silly ribbons either. It was lunch break, so Naruto headed down to the gym were he knew Sasuke would be right now. He opened the door and walked in, eyes scanning the place.

Sasuke cursed when the basketball rebounded off the board.. He was really pissed off. It was white day, and his fangirls were pestering him for return gifts seeing that Naruto wasn't around him. So he went to the gym, closed the door and hoped no one would find him there. It was boring just sitting around so he ended up trying to work out some steam. He froze when light flooded into the dark room. Oh shit.

The lights were off, so Naruto stepped in a felt around for the light switch. But he couldn't seem to find it, so turned and looked around in the dark. Was he in here? This would be a place Sasuke would hide on a day like this anyway. He idly shoved the silly white ribbon into his pocket and called out, "Anyone in here?" The doors were open, so someone had to be. If not, maybe he himself would hang out in here till lunch was over.

Sasuke scowled. The gym wasn't big enough to hide comfortably until Naruto decided to leave. He didn't move from his position below the basketball hoop, waiting for Naruto to notice him and say something.

After moments of looking around, his eyes adjusted quickly in the dark. He saw a figure standing near the hoop and soon recognized it when his eyes adjusted completely. He let out a snort of laughter. "You know, that's kind of creepy of you just standing there like that. You could have answered when I called instead of just waiting for me to notice." He shook his head and turned again to find the light switch.

Sasuke mumbled something incoherent.

"You weren't supposed to be here dobe."

Naruto didn't hear Sasuke mumble, and managed to find the light switches and flicked them on. The gym flooded with light. He turned to Sasuke when he didn't exactly hear him say anything yet. "Are you ok?"

Sasuke scowled and turned away, dribbling the ball.

"No I'm not ok."

Naruto blinked and walked over, already going to attempt to take the ball away in a small game. "It it cause of today is a 'hide from the fangirls of doom' day?" He asked.

Sasuke made a small noise.

"Yes. If I ever see a white ribbon again I'll rip the person apart."

Naruto frowned lightly. Guess he won't be giving his ribbon to anyone this year either. Another boring love day, he guessed. He snatched the ball playfully from Sasuke and shot it at the hoop, getting it in easily. "Only one more afternoon to get through. You can skip class if you seriously can't stand it." He shrugged.

"I'm not letting my grades slip."

In truth he had been waiting to see Naruto to give his own white ribbon, but now his pissed off mind couldn't think straight right now.

He caught the ball and dribbled it, his eyes asking Naruto for a challenge. He wasn't going to let the dobe one-up him in a game.

Naruto instantly caught the challenging look in Sasuke's eyes. He grinned. "A game, eh?" He lunged head on for Sasuke quickly, moving to try and snatch the ball away again.

Sasuke turned his back towards Naruto, dribbling the ball with him and ran back towards the hoop.

Naruto was quick on his feet to follow Sasuke, reaching around him, still trying to snatch the ball. He growled lightly as he did so.

Switching hands to prevent Naruto from getting the ball, Sasuke swerved around and leapt to dunk the ball into the hoop.

Naruto frowned. Sure, Sasuke always beat him at basketball, but Naruto wasn't about to admit that or stop trying. The score was one one now. Swiftly, Naruto grabbed the ball when it finished falling through the hoop and started to dribble it back towards his hoop on the other side of the gym.

Sasuke followed closely, trying to block off any chance Naruto could use to turn with his body. When he was close enough, he made a feint and immediately went for the ball when Naruto was distracted.

"Ahh!" Naruto yelped when Sasuke pulled the stunt and Naruto fumbled the ball, Sasuke getting it once more. He growled in light irritation at loosing, and quickly tried to rebound to take the ball again.

Sasuke pretended he was going to run towards the hoop, but instead, took a step back and shot for a 3-point.

Naruto almost tripped on his own feet when Sasuke stepped back instead of going forward. He flailed to keep his balance and looked up only to see the ball fall simply into the net for the said three points. "...Fuck!" He growled, crossing his arms. The game could go forever, and Naruto didn't want to lose more then he already was... He knew at the back of his head Sasuke would rack up points easily. "Lucky shot." He said in denial.

Sasuke smirked.

"Better luck next time dobe."

"Shut up!" He snapped instantly, not likely that sly smirk as normal. He shoved his hands into his pockets casually, but then felt the ribbon there. He pondered for a moment and pulled it out. What Sasuke said before about ripping apart the next person that would show him one had completely slipped his mind. He was thinking about not giving his ribbon away again and with irritation finally turned, grabbed Sasuke's hand and placed it in his palm. "There. For winning. But I'll always beat you at soccer."

Sasuke scowled when he saw the white ribbon.

"I don't want it."

Naruto frowned at the rejection. "At least take this one from me."

Sasuke scowled again. Then he took his own ribbon, put it together with Naruto's and handed it back.

"No. You take these two."

Naruto blinked at the ribbons and still frowned. "No, you take mine and then I'll take yours then." He took one ribbon and then pushed the other back in Sasuke's hand.

Sasuke took the two ribbons and stuffed it into Naruto's pocket.

"No, I didn't give you anything for Valentine's day so there's nothing for you to return to me."

"But-" Naruto said, looking down at his pocket. "I wanna give my ribbon to you!" He had nothing else to say to get Sasuke to keep it though. He reached into his pocket to pull out the ribbons again.

"I don't want it!"

"But I want you to have it!"

Sasuke scowled.

"I. don't. want. it." and proceeded to literally rip the ribbon in his hands to shreds of threads.

Naruto gaped at him. He just ripped his ribbon up! His precious little ribbon! "Bastard!" Naruto yelled, lunging for Sasuke.

Taken by surprise, Sasuke's defence reflexes kicked in and he caught Naruto, retaliating with a fist in his cheek.

"What the hell!?"

Naruto growled when he was punched and raised his fist, punching Sasuke back. "That was my ribbon!"

Sasuke took the surprise hit full in the face, incredulous.

"Then keep it to yourself if it's so precious!" He grabbed Naruto's wrist and struggled to stop the blonde from lashing out more punches.

"Well I can't really keep it if you tore it up!" Naruto retorted, trying to to pull his wrists from Sasuke.

"Then you shouldn't have given it to me!" Sasuke pushed Naruto forcefully down in an attempt to stop the struggling.

"I wanted to give it too you cause I thought you'd keep it!" He growled back, yelping when he hit the floor. He tried to kick Sasuke.

"Why do I want to keep a white day ribbon for!? I didn't give you anything!"

He tried to dodge the kick but it managed to land a hard blow on his side, causing him to groan and double up in pain.

"Cause I thought you'd keep it if it was from me! No one has ever kept one that I've tried giving away!" He yelled back, taking Sasuke's paused moment to flip them over and going to punch him again.

Sasuke blocked the punch and kneed Naruto in the chest.

"Usurantonkachi! I told you I don't want white ribbons!"

Naruto grunted in pain from the knee to the chest and coughed. He quickly recoiled and tried to punch Sasuke again. "But it was from me! Not a stupid fangirl!!"

"But it's not right for me to take a white day gift from you."

He turned his head to avoid the punch.

"Why not?!" Naruto flinched painfully when his fist hit the floor instead, his knuckles turning red.

"Because I didn't give you anything usurantonkachi."

Sasuke took the chance to grab Naruto's wrist and tried to flip positions.

"But it doesn't matter if I don't get anything. I never do, so it's fine!" Naruto yelped back, growling loudly when flipped. He struggled under Sasuke.

Sasuke held Naruto down fast.

"And I made you upset." His voice had calmed down, and his eyes were back to the cloudy black that hid his emotions.

"I'm not upset!" He shoved Sasuke, trying to get him off.

"You are. And you were the other night in the office."

Sasuke winced when Naruto shoved at the side that got brusied.

Naruto didn't say anything and only growled back, going to kick Sasuke again.

Sasuke, prepared this time, locked Naruto's leg down with his knee.

"You are, aren't you?"

Naruto tried to lash out and punch Sasuke now that he couldn't kick. "I'm fine!"

Sasuke winced when he felt the skin on the corner of his lip break and bleed.

"You're not!"

"Just get off!" Naruto yelled, not exactly answering. He struggled again, not noticing Sasuke's lips.

"No." Sasuke stubbornly sat on Naruto.

"Admit you're upset!"

Naruto let out a low growl in his throat. "Leave me alone, bastard!" He struggled to push Sasuke, lashing out again.

Sasuke struggled to pin Naruto back to the floor, his side aching even more.

"No."

"Sasuke!!" Naruto growled, getting very irritated, "Get off me!!"

"I don't want to. You're just gonna hit me"

He scowled.

"Rgaaghhh!!" Naruto growled, finally put up with the stupid arguing getting them no where. "Fine! I'm upset! Are you happy now?!"

"No." He held Naruto's wrists to the ground firmly.

"Well what the hell do you want me to say then." Naruto growled.

"Tell me why you're not happy. The ribbon couldn't have been so important."

His eyes narrowed.

Naruto narrowed his own eyes. "You rejected me. Again!" He tried to shove Sasuke off again.

Surprised, Sasuke got pushed off.

Narrowing his eyes, he glared.

"I never rejected you!"

"You wouldn't tell me why you were really upset before, or take the stupid ribbon!" It was more then just the ribbon. He thought Sasuke would accept it, since it was from him. He felt rejected because Sasuke didn't want to talk with him about what happened either.

"I told you I didn't want the ribbon! And I'm not telling you why I'm upset because it'd make you even more upset!" Sasuke flared. To hell with being considerate.

"But I want to know because I thought it would help you to get everything out and not keep it locked up in your fucking head! I want to be your vent, no matter what! Is it to hard that I want to be there, no matter what it is?" He yelled back.

"I don't need to get anything out!"

"So you just run off for days, never tell me whats up and have those fucking posts on the stupid computer? I don't even understand why you'd run from me!"

"I'm not running from you!!! I just needed some time alone alright!"

"But I don't want to be apart from you!" He screamed back, going to punch Sasuke again. maybe he was being selfish but he was way to psyched up to realize it.

Sasuke stopped the approaching fist this time.

"You know one day we'll have to part."

His eyes got clouded over again. The practical and negative part of his mind was always so active.

He grabbed Sasuke's shirt, his eyes burning with emotion. No way was he going to let Sasuke say something like that. "Don't say that to me."

Sasuke returned the glare with equal intensity.

"It's true isn't it? Everyone leaves in the end. When you're tired of me, you're gonna leave too."

He couldn't help the little bit of bitterness that crept in.

Naruto's eyes teared up, still burning with both confusion and anger. "You know out off everyone on this fucking planet that I understand those feeling just as strongly, Sasuke,. You. Are. All. I. Have. I'm not going to leave you cause then I'd have nothing. Nothing!"

Sasuke flinched when he saw tears gathering in those blue eyes. He looked away.

"I don't have anything either."

Naruto shook Sasuke, trying to see his reaction. "Don't push me away. I won't let you do it, because your here with me and I don't want to let go of you!"

Sasuke looked back at him with sad eyes.

"But what if I want to dominate you? Lock you up so that no one else can get near you but me? I'm selfish, dobe, you know that for a fact."

"Fine do it. I don't care, because I'm tired of everyone in my life pushing me away like some fucking monster. I don't want you to do it to me too. I'm not ever going to let go of this, because I know there is something between us! You've accepted me. And you know I'm as stubborn as hell." His grip was tight.

"...." Sasuke was really happy to hear it. But he knew telling Naruto what he was really upset about wasn't going to make things better. He took his own white ribbon from his pocket and looped it around Naruto's neck, ending it in a neat knot.

"....." Naruto looked at the ribbon, reaching to play with it for a moment before looking at the ground, clutching the ribbon. His cheeks were hot, and he reached up to rub the tears out of his eyes quickly. "...Sorry I made your lip bleed." He muttered.

Sasuke didn't reply, just pulling Naruto forward into his arms.

"I made you cry."

"I'll be okay." He said, hiding his face in Sasuke's neck now.

Rubbing Naruto's back slowly, Sasuke buried his nose in the blonde locks.

"I wish we could just stay like this.."
