Boris Johnson has hit bottom. I really think there is nothing more despicable and dishonourable that he could have done than his article on today's Telegraph. Knowing perfectly well that the Brexit he howls for is both impossible and largely not defined at all, he covers his own party leader with insults for not achieving it. He is appealing to the

The article is behind their paywall so I couldn't see it. Yet surely it's seen to most by now that his Muppet entertainment felt has long eroded to reveal the puppeteer: but, a ghastly odour.

Yes. But the single-minded way in which he shapes his screed in the most traditional, you would say predictable , form of the grossest demagoguery, really is hard to believe. It is almost as if someone had set him a schoolroom task of writing a demagogic rant. I know that if I were to write like that, I would be showing contempt for my own public; in my case, it would be the kind of writing that would result from an inner convinction that the public who will read me are idiots.
