Hey there kids. I am thinking of going to FPC in the fall as a freshmen. I've been accepted and given a hefty amount of money and it's on my top two and I am working on finalizing my decisions soon but I would like to hear about it from you guys. How is the Biology program? Anything to do in town? Any insight is appreciated. :)

i agree with bits and pieces of all of the above, EXCEPT everyone left out one key thing...probably not on purpose though ( ... )

Thank you guys for all of your insights towards FPC. I live in Philadelphia, PA so it might be kind of hard to be able to fly to NH and MT to visit both schools and make a final decision, that is why I came here to hear it from current students.

I'm from the suburbs of Philly and attend FPC. I also know a handful of others that are from the area. It's not that bad of a drive, only about 5 hours from the city. If you're interested in FPC you should deffinately consider coming up for the Open House next month (I think thats when it is).

Also, if you google map rindge, nh you'll find that it's COMPLETELY different then the city. If youre content with a change and not having everything at your disposal (oh and if you can also live without REAL cheese steaks) then deffinately consider FPC as a choice.

I actually have two friends in the Pre-Med major here, and they seem to enjoy it. It's challenging though. I know someone else said academics lack here, but it all depends on what your high school was like as well as the major you are persuing at FPC. I know that even in the Psych department they have some hard professors that can make you life a living hell!

FPC is madd chill. It has a very laid back environment.

I do not spend that much money up here because I do not leave campus all the time to go out to eat and to see a movie.

A thing that sucks is that people tend to leave campus on the weekends.. but for those who stay there are parties.

CAB tries its hardest for trips/comedians. Also the adventure recreation usually has a trip every weekend.

Not sure about the Bio stuff...but there's plenty of others here who know about it.

I actually just transferred out of FPC and back home to Boston (BU), but I'm sure you'll like FPC if you decide to go. Honestly, it's a nice, small, liberal arts school and they'll grant you a degree without too many insane requirements. Honestly, if I didn't have my job here in Boston, I'd still be up there. I made so many good friends. Yes, it's in the middle of nowhere, and I left every weekend during my freshman year. Keene and Manchester are cool places to explore during your downtime. Also, there are many state parks around as well. The dorms are decent as far as dorms go. If you don't drink, consider yourself in the minority, but there's still good times to be had nonetheless.

Best wishes with your final decision!

because the school is so small there is usually lots of drama cause your basically stuck with eachother in the middle of the woods (literally) but i would suggest enjoying your freshmen year and staying alot because after freshmen year they break you up cause sophmore houseing is EVERYWHERE, junior housing is the apartments and the senior houseing you get moved down the street to the townhouses. The RAs are usually bitches your freshmen year but they loosen up junior year, and senior year your barely bothered down at lakeview except on the weekends when Rindge P.D. come by cause they have nothing better to do ( ... )
