Financial Question

Hello everyone! I found this community through a friend of mine who goes to FPC (josepher). I have been accepted for this upcoming fall semester, and the amount of paperwork I've been getting is a bit overwhelming. I've managed to sort through most of it now, but I'm still concered about my financial standing ( Read more... )

and one other thing - make sure to keep the ORIGINAL paperwork (or a copy of it) for every grant you get, incase they try to pull something like that. If you can show them what you've agreed to, 9 times out of 10 they'll revert back to your original grant rather than the new requirements.

Thank you! That's good to know. Read fine print; keep all paperwork. Can do.

I only wish that I could apply for the FAFSA in a way that would let them know that I am not getting any help from my family; it would make the whole situation so much easier! ^.^;

you can wait until you're 25 or have proof of living on your own (apartment lease in your name or utility bills in your name) and the financial aid office can file a different fafsa for you its ammended to include that you have no help. the catch is you cant have your parents health insurance either, and they cant even gift money to you for college use.
