Christmas is over for another year. Yay! Maybe next year I'll be better prepared. I shall post in dot-point because I am lame and tired. And I suspect I need 12 hours sleep. I have NOTHING on my calendar for tomorrow. I shall give Cas food and sleep 'til noon.
Christmas Eve is at my Dad's. Granny's Estonian - Eastern European traditions and all. Though no longer spend with my Granny because of the Dad/aunt issues. And Granny no longer cooks. So it was turkey (not duck). And everyone was tired. And my Dad was overly stressed and... Yeah.
Got awesome gifts from brother and Suze. I got an external hd! 1.5TB! Yes, TERABYTES. I shall promptly transfer my computer's contents to it and do a much-needed reformat of my computer. Soon. Um. Yeah. Shall ask for my brother's help, I think. Also got a money-donated-in-your-name card for kids in... Some place. Suze had been there. So knew first-hand that these kids had no school supplies. She'd buy a box of pencils before going to the class. Kids would put up their hands to say they didn't have a pencil, so she would end up giving the entire box away. I appreciate that the most. Knowing exactly where the money goes and all that. It's important to give money where you know it's needed and you have that connection with. First time someone's done that for me, too.
Also got a little book from them. Penguin book - Twitterverse Classics or something. All the classics (ok, not all. A LOT though). In twitter form. I shall quote some next post. It's awesome. Romeo & Juliet in 2 pages. LoLz
From Dad & Colleen I got a pot. For pasta and stuff. With a collander and all that jazz. I hope that it will work on my stove. It's rather big :| The burners (that WORK) are very small.
Ended up getting home late. Like, stupidly late. 1ish. Poor brother had a bad headache :( I have an inkling it may have been related to stress. Was worrying about work and was spending Christmas Day with Suze's family down the coast. BIG thing!
Christmas Day I spent at my Dad's with him, Colleen and a friend of Dad's from work. Ok. I never thought there could be such a thing, but he's a redneck gay man from a cattle ranch(?) in Central Australia. ... Him and Colleen of course ended up talking about her work. Such charming conversation for Christmas Day. Death. Dying. Palliative Care. I gave up enduring it when she started talking about a lady whose husband was dying(?). And how she had these thoughts, nay, these plans, of killing her daughter and herself.
Managed to extract myself and drive myself to my Nanna's just in time for the Games. They decided to not do a Kris Kringle this year. Instead several of my Nanna's kids took it up to buy gifts, then arrange games to distribute them. There was a word association game. Pass the Parcel, Ring Toss, Pin the Horn on the Unicorn, and Bobbing for Apples. I won the bobbing for apples. XD My Nanna organised that one. The prize was a nectarine tree. A dwarf one. It's on my balcony now. I also got one of the pass the parcel gifts. But it was tickets to the tennis and I HATE tennis. My aunt ended up taking the tickets back and giving me $50 in their place. I had intended to swap with someone, or give them to someone else. So this was nice.
I also got $$ from my Granny. A stupid amount. And (melted) chocolate from my aunt. I have never received unmelted chocolates from her. It just... I don't understand why this happens. If you're buying chocolates? You make sure you get them when they aren't going to melt. Not as bad as last time I got some from her though. These were wrapped lindt so I'll still be able to eat them and enjoy them mostly.
Have plenty more to blog about:
All the cards I received! The awesome memeness from
foxythang2000, the fact that my Granny turned around after my aunt left for the airport and stated she was not going into the place she was to spend the next three weeks. And also the results of my sleep study and Cas's visit to the vet. Stay tuned!
Please excuse the terrible spelling/word-usage in this post. I'm just not up for good writing.
