I finished S2 of Sarah Connor Chronicles last week. Had avoided doing any, well, internet searches so as to avoid spoilers.

I don't think he uses it (much) any more. Just for stalking his fans, me thinks XD
But, yes! I do think it's legit. He used it to answer questions about his album/songs, etc.
