For our upcoming Hobbit Party, I want to concoct six drinks to share with guests throughout the day. I'd like to link them to each of the three Lord of the Rings movies, which we'll be screening downstairs while the rest of the party goes on upstairs and in the game room. 4 oz brandy
4 oz maraschino liqueur
3 quarts Rhine wine (it's a sweet German white)
1 quart sparkling water
1/2 pound fine grain sugar
2 Tablespoons tea leaves
Ice
Fruit garnish
I think the instructions are pretty obvious; the cookbook I'm working from has you tie up the tea leaves in cheesecloth and soak in the cold mixture for 10 minutes. One might point out that 2 or 3 teabags might do the trick just as well.
