It took me 16 months (though the last few pounds were quite stubborn) and I did it through watching my diet and running a lot. I try to eat as healthily as I can (though there are quite a few slip-ups!) and post-marathon I'm averaging about 20-25 miles a week (but will be looking to build mileage from there).
I'm also contemplating trying to drop to ~135lbs to see what the effect will be on my race times, though that can wait until the new year tbh!
