During the current spectacle in Lebanon, some random thought sediments have settled in my brain:

Gandhi's strategy of non-violence worked pretty well when meeting an enemy opposed to senseless slaughter. I doubt it would have worked overly well on Djenghis Khan. But it can be formulated as a reasonably succesful strategy in game theoretic terms. ( Read more... )

How do you set teTeX on the Mac to accept EPS files and such? As it is now, it will only accept PDF files for illustrations. A weenie bit annoying if you're cross-working with LaTeX on Linux which only takes EPS files for illustration. :-/
