Who: Asellus (roseimbroglio) and Ildon (blackwingprince)
What: Ildon to the rescue! Sort of.
Where: Asellus' room.
When: Not...sure? |D Sometime in the evening, possibly. Immediately after Asellus' asking Ildon to talk online, though.
Warnings: Ildon attempting to be comforting. This may be hilarious or tragic, depending.
Rating: PG, I imagine.

Are you out there where the rainy days begin to feel rather sad )

Asellus looked up from her sprawl on the bed, not even vaguely surprised; she hadn't expected him to walk and he probably wouldn't have expected the same out of her, had she actually ever mastered that particular mode of travel (instead, she managed sometimes to locate her self in one room and her clothing in another, which could be hilarious if in the right company. It was never in the right company). "Ildon," she began, uncertainty clear on her features and no small amount of the mixture of regret and grief that had plagued her in her alone times in her voice.

"I shouldn't have come here," she wasted no time with preamble. "I should never have come back." The tone was confessionary; the expression was vulnerable. She had closed the relevant windows on her computer, but the fact that she wasn't NEAR any of the towers should have been clue enough as to where this uncertainty had come from.

Ildon closed the distance between himself and Asellus in a few strides, sitting down on the bed next to her. He'd developed a genuine affection for her in their time traveling together, independent of Rastaban's wishes and ambitions for her, and seeing her like this...it distressed him on a level he'd nearly forgotten he possessed. Rastaban was always smiling, always happy or always at least feigning it well enough that Ildon couldn't tell. Never upset like this. Before Asellus, there had been no one else he'd ever have been inclined to comfort ( ... )

Her brow furrowed; she glared at her feet as if they'd done something to offend her. "I'm the only one, Ildon. No one else remembers. It's like... It's like losing all my Human friends again, except these people are like they've replaced my friends with strangers. And don't you tell me I should have expected this," she preemptively glowered. "It's been seven years. Not seventy. It'd be like... like going home, and finding that no one remembered who I was. In fact, it is like that." She scowled.

"And the person I most wanted to remember not only isn't the same, but he doesn't believe me, not completely, it's obvious. And when I try all available options here to figure out where to go next, I'm stymied. I'm not a great Human and I don't know the first thing about being a Mystic, and everyone wants to associate with either one or the other." She kicked at a dust bunny. "I've been trying to become wiser, but I don't really know anything, do I?"

"I don't know enough about your situation to tell you what you should or shouldn't have expected," Ildon replied, quite honestly. Asellus had told him some things about her situation, certainly, but he still only had fragments of the puzzle, not the entire picture. And Ildon was wise enough, and patient enough, not to draw potentially erroneous judgments from what few pieces he had ( ... )
