HAPPY BIRTHDAY MARU!!!!!!!!!!!!! (part 2)

Sep 13, 2008 00:51

OMG IT'S BEEN A WEEK.

It's all the school's fault. I swear.

Same setup as before!

Movie Date Maru/Koki

“Like a date?” Maru was amused by Koki’s denial face. The wide eyes. The raised eyebrows. The slight redness of the cheeks. It was great not being the shy one occasionally. Although a shy Koki was even more rare.

“Not a date. I’m just taking you out to a movie for your birthday,” Koki dismissed with the wave of his hand.

Their night was filled with random elbow bumps and Koki constantly reaching over to Maru’s lap for popcorn.

It was towards the end of the movie when the atmosphere changed. Maru jerked in his seat when he felt a pair of warm lips pressed against the corner of his mouth. He looked at Koki with an amused expression. “This is so a date.”

Yellow Pants Maru/Yassan

“What do you think?” Yassan was grinning hopefully as Maru walked out of his dressing room.

The sight was comical. Not only were the pants bright yellow, but they were floods. He looked like he was wearing clothes from when he was in junior high. Then again, he never wore this color out in public. But it was a gift for his birthday, and Maru was never going to turn away a kind gesture. “Floods?”

“They look good on you! I’m so happy Massu and I found this. He said you needed a fun new wardrobe,” Yassan explained, circling Maru as he examined the change.

Maru almost passed out at the idea of dressing like them. “Thank you.”

“No problem. We should go shopping some time!”

Maru wasn’t rude enough to turn down the gift. He would just accidently bleach them the next time he did laundry.

Sake Maru/Koichi

“Happy birthday. Have some more,” Koichi grinned at the blushing and intoxicated Maru. He thought he looked so cute drunk. His cheeks were flushed. He would randomly hiccup and point at colorful lights inside the bar.

“It’s like you’re trying to get me drunk on purpose,” Maru slurred, allowing the other to pour him another glass.

“I am.”

Maru’s jaw dropped and he slumped back in his seat. “Why?”

“So I can ravage you of course,” Koichi rolled his eyes, signaling that this was all a joke. He didn’t even touch his drink but he always enjoyed messing with the younger man.

Maru snorted loudly into his drink. “Really?”

“No. I’m lying.”

“Really?” he repeated, resting his chin on his hand and looking at the older man expectantly.

“Well. Let’s just say it’s partially true,” Koichi smiled lightly as he moved in on the younger man.

Breast-Shaped Pillow Maru/Yoko

“What am I supposed to do with this?” Maru questioned once more, holding up his birthday gift once more.

“Don’t be stupid. You sleep on it,” Yoko looked at the other’s confused expression and sighed loudly. “It’s a pillow. Shaped like a woman’s chest. Or Yamapi’s.”

“I know that,” there was a hint of annoyance in his voice.

“Then why did you ask?” the older man teased.

“What am I supposed to do with this?” Maru repeated as he set it down on the table in front of them and stared at it.

“Sleep on it. Duh,” Yoko chuckled darkly at Maru. Poor kid. Didn’t his group have a sense of humor to give him a gift like this?

“Really?”

“Oh, they’re great. Everyone in Kanjani8 has one,” Yoko continued, patting the pillow. “Try it.”

Maru looked around the restaurant to see if anyone was paying close enough attention, but Yoko grew impatient and pushed his head down onto the pillow.

“How is it?”

“Why did I have to open this gift in public?!” Maru whined, his face turning red at the random glares or looks of disgust.

Pajamas Maru/Massu

The design looked like it was meant for a three year old. The pattern was baby blue, and filled with tiny panda bears eating bamboo sticks. Maru grimaced at the matching set of a t-shirt and cotton shorts that Massu gave to him on his birthday. Looking up at Massu's expectant grin, Maru tried to smile, but was so very lost.

"So... Where would I wear this?"

"Where-ever you want. You can take it to the hotel with you when you go touring," Massu nodded. "It's an interesting pattern, right?"

"Do I wear this," Maru fought for words, trying not to hurt his friend's feelings, "out?"

"That would be a good idea! But these are actually pajamas."

Maru inwardly sighed. That means he wasn't going to be seen in public with this. "You know, this is something you would wear."

Massu's face lit up. "Oh, I do! I have a matching pair at home. My mother actually wants you to come over some time to take a picture of us wearing them together."

Physical evidence of him wearing this?! Maru grimaced because he knew there would be no way to deny Massu. Hopefully his mother wouldn't frame the photo.

Planner Maru/Sho

"It's useful too," Sho continued explaining why his gift wasn't as boring as Nino had been teasing him about earlier that day.

Maru earnestly nodded his head in agreement and smiled down at the black planner. He was happy with the gift, he loved the idea of organizing his busy schedule. Yet Sho kept going on about how it was useful and helpful and creative and better than whatever Nino would have given him (which was nothing). And Maru believed him.

"Anyways, happy birthday Nakamaru-kun. I listed some important events in that book if you want to glance at it later."

"I will, thank you!" He flipped through the pages when the other left. It was a list of birthdays of each member of Arashi and a small list of their gift preferences. Helpful indeed.

Fishing Pole Maru/Ohno

Could he not be surprised by a birthday present from Ohno? Maru always felt that he somewhat knew what was going through people's heads. He was good at avoiding those with bad tempers (RyoRyoRyo) and he knew who he could mess around with. But Ohno was unreadable. Maru could never tell what was going through his head.

But he assumed that he wasn't even going to receive a gift from Ohno, and if he was, he was expecting some sort of art supplies like pencils. Not a fishing pole. He didn't even think of that possibility.

He stared at the fishing pole that was sitting outside his apartment door and began to read the small note attached to it.

Nakamaru-kun,

I finally got around to watching Cartoon KAT-TUN. It happened to be the episode with you fishing. You look like you could use some help. It was terrible to watch.

Happy birthday
Ohno

Maru rolled his eyes. Only he could be insulted and congratulated on his birthday.

Watch Maru/Yamapi (+Ryo)

The watch looked so unique. So fashionable. So classy. Something Maru never expected to receive as a gift. And from Yamapi on top of it.

"Ah, thank you very much!" Maru bowed as Yamapi waved his hand shyly. "It's a sensible gift. I appreciate it."

"You're welcome. I just think that a watch is the ultimate gift. Everyone uses them," Yamapi explained and looked at his own wrist. "Gotta go. Happy birthday."

"Happy Bathday," a voice behind Maru spoke up and he turned to see a smirking Ryo. "It's drilled into my head now. And no, I didn't get you anything."

"I wasn't expecting anything."

"Good. So what did you get from Pi?" Ryo asked, peering into Maru's hands. His eyes widened slightly and he roughly grabbed the other's hand.

"What are you doing?" Maru struggled to get it back.

Ryo laughed darkly to himself. "That dumbass. He bought the same watch for Uchi."

Hey. It was the ultimate gift.

Not as many this time around. Sorry folks.
