Nice use of the prompt. I sort of like the implication that she is being scrutinized from up close but watched over from afar. Sad that he will be so far away for so long. Well done. You and defyingnormalcy seem to have sad and poignant wrapped up for this week. I know where no to go.
I think this line hits me differently from everyone else. Endless circles seem so pointless and sad: Laura says something about that in UB. It also makes me think of hawks or vultures circling. Bill is up there--protective, watching over them--but also trapped in his duty. He is not by her side, looking into her eyes.
And she is still trapped by gazes that focus on what position she does or doesn't hold.

Adama above, preying on the wreckage of what he and Roslin had started to build, Roslin below, being preyed upon by those who rejected her but still wonder where the salvation she promised is.
Interesting depiction of the difference between those who watch and those who watch over. For Laura there do not seem to have been enough people in her life - especially in recent years - who did the latter.

I wonder if there ever had been, especially in the years covered by the series (including the Daybreak flashbacks. I doubt she ever had someone watch over her the way Bill would like to.
I too like how you described the others watching her on NC. She was always under scrutiny no matter where she was. That weight seemed to never let up for her. I like the last line, it seems to hang there like Galactica. I agree, so close and so far. What she really wants is just out of reach. Wonderful work!!
