Been spending a lot of time with an old friend lately. She used to work with my husband and I… she was a good friend of hubby’s and then became a friend mine when I joined the company waaaaay back when, and consequently started dating hubby.
She was one of the people who noticed a ‘Spark’ before it was common knowledge.
Anyway, long story short,

i will NEVER understand why people do that... i guess it makes me a little naive... but after living through it with my parents... i just don't understand why it happens.
i am glad your friends have a friend like you though...
I hate it when you have to watch someone go through something and you can’t do anything about it…. I HATE IT!
but you're not not doing anything. you're helping her by being there for her... that IS something. you might not think it's enough, but most times, it is.

Me neither. What kills me is that in order for it to happen the guilty party had to LET it happen. I mean, COME ON! You're married, perhaps not entirely happy at that point, but still MARRIED. So, when temptation comes calling, and you start to feel that pull towards someone else... well.... then you should nip it in the bud before it gets out of hand. You should either remove yourself entirely from temptations path, or if that cannot be helped, you should limit contact with temptation. The first thing you do is cut out the flirting... and we ALL know, that's where it starts ( ... )

Just random, because at first I thought you were talking about fanfiction and I was like...what? Then I realized they used to be a real couple...anyway...
But I agree cheating is just awful! Anyway...I'll leave you alone now!

But yes, Cheating is absolutely awful. I was away on a weekend skiing with Brenda just last week and we talked a bit about it. She admitted that if she had things to do all over again she'd have handled things differently. She said she would have ended her relationship with Sharon first, before she moved on. She said that she should have shown her former partner a little more respect and that she still loses sleep over it. I, true friend that I am, said that I was glad to hear that she was still losing sleep because it was really shitty.

Anyway, yes she should feel badly for what she did. I don't think I could ever do it and my partner is very trustworthy and I don't think she would either. I mean who knows the future, but I just don't see it ever being acceptable or happening.
Glad to know Brenda still feels bad. Poor Sharon. I hope she can move on with her life. :(
