i have never tried skiing. can honestly say it's not something i ever thought of ever trying... my luck, i would fall and break something.
now... get me up on one of those hills with a nice sled... and, oh yeah... i'm there! LOL
for your sake... Winter can stay up in Ottawa! sound fair? the white shit did not show up for Christmas, so i don't want anymore showing up now. and... i'm ready for warm! i want to get back outside and walk... and tis too cold right now for me to do so. i miss the days when i could make it through winter in my tank tops!!
Cold???? It's not COLD. Holy shit, woman, do you remember what things were like 5 years ago when it actually got COLD in February? You just don't have as much insulation around your bones anymore... LOL. Buy a better jacket and get your ass outside. Enjoy the fresh air!.
Okay, joking aside, I know that winter is not everyone's cup of tea. And Yes, I can understand you being pissed off at winter for not brining snow for Christmas but then dumping it on you afterwards... I'd be pissed too. We were lucky enough to get snow in time for Christmas. JUST in time, but it was white on Christmas morning and that's all that matters.
I can't wait for my girls to be older so I can take them skating. This is the third winter in a row when people were skating on lakes, canals etc. and I was either pregnant or just delivered and recovering so I didn't skate. I'm from the north of NL where skating is a big deal. I feel like I'm missing out! I love to be able to teach them. It'll be a couple of years before I can teach Tessel - lols.
And do you have time for being a ski patrol? It seems like you havn't got enough time as it is - lols.
And do you have time for being a ski patrol? Well... eeerrrmmm.... that seems to be the big question. I'm going to take the kids skiing on Thursday and I am going to meet up with the Patrol Leader for lunch. I'll find out just how much time is expected.. I think they said 12 days / season. If that's all they need from me then YES, I think I can manage it. But I do realize that I have myself spread a little thin so I will make sure I don't commit to something I can't follow through on
( ... )
it IS fun. I have some friends with kids that don't do anything with them. One of my friends will just say with a wave of her hand... "oh, I couldn't be bothered with that.".... makes me sad. I don't think she realizes what she's missing out on.
Yes, taking them places and doing stuff with them at this age is a HUGE pain in the ass sometimes. But, it's also lots of fun and it's what I like to call "Building memories"
I know that sounds corny, but that's really what it's all about.
