i've seen it done before, yes, but i wasn't suspecting people to read it and think "yep, this is the old sitcom plot". Hmmm... their daughter is left almost completely out of the picture unless she's spoken of or at the end. Their predicament at the end of reconciled divorce puts her in an uncomfortable position that is certainly not resolved.

It's not so much the storyline of the sitcom plot stunt I'm fascinated with but how to get it across in a new and unique way. If I can take it and mix it with something Edward Albee would write like Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, then I think I'm on to something.
