Etgar Keret, one of Israel's foremost contemporary writers, spoke in my class today. He was very approachable, intelligent, witty, and all around inspiring. Look up his short stories online -- some of them are available through the LA Times and NPR's This American Life -- they're weird in a wonderful way. My students were great, too! Perhaps the girlie problem is a side effect of your meds? If not, get checked out quickly.

Yep, sounds like side effects to me, too. I don't mind having fewer periods, as long as it doesn't actually make me infertile... ;)

Ooh-- I'll have to look for Etgar Keret. Sounds interesting!

And much sympathy. Have you been dieting or on new workout regime? I know my period stopped when I went on outward bound in college, and it took months to be regular after that. Of course I also probably had an eating disorder at the time, so hard to know which was the bigger problem...

He's cool -- and the best thing is that all his stories are short -- like 3-4 pages -- sometimes bite-sized stories hit the spot!

I'm sorry that you had an eating disorder -- that must have been so rough. I'm glad that you got better.

Me, I have been doing the opposite of dieting because of the new meds I started in December -- in fact, I've gained over 10 pounds in the last five months. I'd rather be fat than insane, though :]
