Hello all. It's been a horrible day today, but at least it's sunnier now.
As I said I got a puppy two weeks ago and my God, he's hard work! House training has been fine, but we can't get him to stop biting hands and feet. Hopefully, he'll grow out of it.

I've tried squealing and he stops just long enough to tilt his head from side to side. I know that he's teething really badly just now, as he's only 10 weeks. He's got so many toys (and socks he has stolen lol) and a few bones to chew on and he does, he just likes to bite really hard. It's just a game of patience just now. Just until he's a little older.

Hmm. Maybe do it every time? It's just going to be a problem to untrain him. Trust me. I worked with a lot of the labs that mouthed and it kinda hurt. Maybe you could give him a toy when he mouths?

Also substitute. He is biting because like babies teething it is uncomfortable. Use kongs, chewy toys, rawhide, cow hooves (if you want him to like this treat and not risk injury you need to get him one now/as adults some dogs may not know how to eat them and may splinter the hoof), pig ears, and other dog friendly stuff.
Without proper substitutes your hands won't be the only victims (shoes, table legs, and clothing are just a few things teething dogs will get a habit for)

I understand that he needs to bite, I just wish it wasn't so hard, lol.
He has a kong, and he likes to bounce after it (he doesn't run so much as bounce along, sort of like Tigger)and lots of bones, but apparently he's too young for pigs ears. He's only 10 weeks old.
Yeah he's already stolen a few socks and an old trainer, but at least it's old.

Mine went through, sandals, socks, shoes, and lots of them. He probably ended up destroying 1500 worth in his ten years.
