Wow. It's been a long, harsh couple of years since I've really had anything to say. In part, I think it's because I haven't... well, really felt like myself for a long time.
It's complicated, and probably extremely boring, so I'll have to spend some time trying to put it into words. Blargh. -
A Blogging Side-Project Goes To the Dogs
As a lot of folks know, I've been volunteering at the local animal shelter with my wife for a while now. It's been very frustrating working with some of the animals, only to find that people won't even look at them because of their "in-kennel" lack of sparkle.
So we're going to bring them out of the kennels, albeit virtually.

Work begins again, so I can finally get some rest...
Got some fun new clothes yesterday, for no real reason at all. Hopefully, I will get a chance to wear them in the not-too-distant future. I guess I'll just have to wait and see ( Read more... ) -

Isn't it odd how a "simple favor" for someone (usually a friend) often seems to turn into much, much more than you agreed to? And it's uncanny how quickly the "but you prooooomised" card gets thrown down when you have a complaint: even a valid, simple to resolve one ( Read more... ) -

In a Halloween-ish twist, I got a jury duty summons for today. for my mother.
For those (like the Dallas County Court System, apparently) who don't get the humor in this, my mother has been dead for six and a half years now. And to make it even more entertaining, being dead is apparently not one of the standard, accepted exemptions from serving ( Read more... ) -

Well, I've been really depressed about the way I look lately, but have managed to claw my way down about 10 lbs. weight-wise since last I did any photos. Whew! Now only about... 30 or 40 to go? AAAAAAAAAArgh...
