Pre-mobilization,,,,

It's been two weeks since we went in to a place to learn and to discover new things...

And in this trip I realized so many things that I don't know before.

In the first day of our pre-mobilization all of my classmates were so excited to go at Mount Makiling. In the bus we were all noisy and we were all excited.

When we arrive at Makiling we first had our orientation and after the orientation we started to go to our designated tents. I feel a bit sad and embarrassed when they told me that I can not stay with my classmates. I really wanted to stay with them. But as instructed boys and girls can not stay in the same tent so after all I don’t have any choice. After going in our designated tents we started the activities that were assigned to us.

Our first base was in the emergency and safety awareness. In that base we learned what is the right way to respond and rescue when an emergency or a calamity happens. At first the faculty that was assigned to us told us that accidents were everywhere and we don’t know where and we can catch an accident, so it is good that we know what to do in case an accident will happen. First he taught us what to do when there is an earthquake. But while we are discussing heavy rain began to fall so they allow us to go to our tents to arrange our things and prevent it from being wet. My things didn’t got wet because I place it in a garbage bag but on the other hand water started to flow inside our tent, it is because the rainfall became stronger. To fix our tent we have no choice but go out and get wet in the rain just to fix our tent but after all the efforts that we had exerted our tent ended up wet but it doesn’t matter for us what important is our things did not get wet and we enjoyed getting wet in the rain. Back into the base, when an earthquake occur the very first thing that a person will do is to panic and that was the wrong. The very first thing that we should remember when a calamity happens is that we should not panic. All we had to do is think of how we can survive from that calamity. When an earthquake occurs all people inside a building should go out into the building and go into an open ground and for people who are inside their houses they can hide under a table. That was just an example of what a person should do incase of a calamity. After the safety awareness discussion they also taught us to apply first aid. They taught us what is the right way to carry an injured person even if that person was bigger and heavier than us.

After the first base we went to our second base the Nature Appreciation. In that base we will do some activities that will make us appreciate how beautiful and how important the nature is. We have done a lot of activities in every base that we went. Every activity was interesting.

After the Natures Appreciation we had our time to rest and to wash up. They told us that we will do a lot of activities in the upcoming day because we only took two bases on that day so we had to rush in the second day for us to finish the entire base that we had to go through.

In taking a bath we went to a hotel like place and its keepers opened its rooms so we can use the room’s bathrooms. But it took us a long time to finished taking a bath because there were so may of us who wants to take a bath and because of that I was forced to take a bath with my classmate.

After taking a bath we all went to the ground for the Night Program. I had fun in the whole program especially in the performances of each section. Some of them performed a dance number and some also performed a song number. But what caught my attention were the comedy acts that were performed. In fact our section performed a comedy act. I liked all the performances and of course my favorite was our sections performance. I will be a big liar if I will say that I do not like it. Of course I had to be bias for my own section. After the performances of each section, some of the volunteers also performed an intermission number.

After the program the Vigil Night started. All the lights were turned off and a voice from the audio was being heard.  The whole place went so silent that only the voice and the sound of crickets can be heard. All of us turned our heads down and quietly listened to the voice. I do not know but as if there was something on the voice that it can touch the heart of anyone who can hear it. After listening to the voice, as I turned my head up almost all people in the ground was crying including some of the volunteers. After listening we were all given a candle to light it up and silently pray for what or whom we want to pray for.

After praying we all went to our tents to sleep. As we walk away to the ground were we left our candles lighted, we can see the candles from a far and it looks so beautiful. When we finally got to our tent we realized that we did not have our dinner yet. That’s why we decided to eat (snacky foods). While eating, a faculty told us to sleep right after we finish eating our food. After eating our food we decided to go to sleep. We decided to merge two tents because they were crowded on the other tent and there were only four of us in the tent. One of the guys decided to sleep on our tent because he doesn’t have any place to sleep with in their tent. We were about to sleep but some of us were still telling jokes so instead of sleeping we ended up laughing. But when we were about to sleep seriously a faculty came to see us and when she saw that one of the guys sleep with us she told us that guys can not sleep with girls. But when the faculty went away one of our guy classmate still slept with us. We were quietly sleeping in peace when another faculty woke us up just to tell us that guys can not sleep with us. In that case we don’t really have a choice but to obey the rules.

It was early three in the morning when I woke up and some of my classmates were still quietly sleeping in peace. We were all about to buy some food when one of my classmates decided to play a prank on one of our classmates that was quietly sleeping. He went to get a pen and started to write something on our classmates face. To be specific he wrote the word “bakla” on our classmate’s forehead and he draws something on the other part of the face our sleeping classmate. We were all laughing while he was doing the whole thing it is because despite of the loud noise inside the tent our classmate was still sleeping as if he was sleeping in a quiet and peaceful place.

After the whole prank we all decided to buy something to eat. While we were eating we saw our classmate (the victim of our prank) heading towards us. While he approaching we were all laughing and when he arrived at were we are he started complaining from what we had done to him. He also told as that as he woke up and go out of the tent someone saw him and laughed at him. After knowing what had just happened to him, instead of saying sorry for what we had done, we just laughed at him while he was still complaining from what had happened. And as he complains one of my girl classmate also complained that he was kicking her while he was sleeping, if he was like a compass when he was sleeping. We were all laughing all the time just because of that issue. After eating we all decided to go back to the tent to sleep again.

It was about five in the morning when one of my classmates woke me up. That time all I can hear was my classmates chatting and the sound of the audio from a far commanding us to wake up, eat our breakfast and get ready for the upcoming activities. While getting ready my classmate (the victim of our prank) also woke up, and as he woke up he asked us is he had marks on his face. That time before he woke up we were just planning to write on his face using a marker but we can not find one so instead of writing in his face we decided that by the time that he woke up we will tell him that he has new marks on his face. And as planned we tell him that he had new marks in his face. As we said it, he stated to complain again and our all of us started to laugh again.

After having our lunch we were all ready for the activities that were assigned to us. Our first base for that day was the Water Survival, but I felt a bit sad and embarrassed because I can not join that activity because of some reasons.

After the Water Survival our next base was the Obstacles but after doing the Water Survival heavy rain fell and because of that our next activity were slightly postponed. After the rain had slightly calmed down we started to go through the obstacles. Because o the rain the obstacles become muddy and slippery so we have to be extra careful. The whole obstacles were so exciting and fun even if some of the obstacles hard. It is because some of my classmates were telling jokes while they were on the obstacle. After going through the obstacles we were all muddy and tired but it was okay because we had fun after all.

After going through the obstacles at last we went to our last base, the Team Building. Our task on that base was to form a big circle with our hands holding each other and a certain number of hula-hoops should go around us and as the hula-hoops were going around we had to sing any song. That activity was a whole lot of fun because the songs that my group mates sang was so funny that even the faculty and the volunteer that was assigned on that particular activity.

After the last base that we had gone through at last it was time for us to clean ourselves and get ready to go home. We were in a rush that time because some of the students were already on their assigned bus. After taking a bath we all went to the ground for the closing remarks. After that we just took some pictures and went to our bus.

At first we were all noisy in the bus we were all chatting, but as time pass some of us fell asleep and some of us decided to play a little prank of taking pictures of those who are quietly sleeping. Because of that I just covered my face with my jacket the whole trip. By the time that we arrived at the school it was the time for the each of us to go home and rest.

I really enjoyed the whole immersion even if some of the activities were quite hard and exhausting. It was a unique and exciting experience. But despite of all the exhausting and hard activities that I had gone through I can still tell myself that I had learned a lot and I would want to repeat that whole all over experience again.
