Living for revival, dying for a new soul
I went to see Idina Menzel last Saturday.
I got up at 9am and got my stuff together cause the plan was to meet at my place at 10 and then head over to Jacksonville (which is 3 1/2 hours away). My friend Diana calls me and tells me that she got called in from work with some last minute training bullshit and she wasnt gonna be able to go. She was upset, I got upset and it just sucked. When it was getting close to being 10 I text Tyler and ask if he's on his way. I get no reply. By this point i'm kinda hyperventilating a bit. I called him cause I knew he was gonna be asleep and I was gonna be pissed off. I called him and whataya know he was still sleeping and I had just woken him up. GODAMMIT! I have to say that I was a bit pissed. But I think I was just pms'ing and I really didnt want to lay it all on him. So after I hung up and he started getting ready I sent him a text saying to not pay any mind to my bitchiness because it was not personal. He, of course, understood. I went and picked him up 10 minutes later. The drive there was not bad at all. We made the trip in 2 hours and 50 minutes. How? I dont know. I just know we passed some hick town and I really didnt want to get off the car for anything. Bunch of redneck with their confederate flags. If I would have gotten down, I would have been shot or something.
We got to the venue early as hell so we looked for a place to eat. We decided on a burrito place. It was delicious. We fed some birds for a while and then went back to the venue. It was in an open venue, a park. Pretty. We went over to the ticket stands were some people were setting up and asked one of the girls there if we could somehow upgrade our tickets to VIP. she said that if she had a table available that she would. :) But still it would be 2 hours before the doors opened. So we went over to the car and got in. Tyler decided to play with his Nintendo DS and I just wanted to nap. When I was sure I was falling asleep I heard singing over the music of Tyler's stupid game and like a crazy person I open my door. AND OMG!!! I almost peed my pants cause Idina was doing soundcheck and we could hear everything!!!!! An hour later we went to stand by the gate and talked to a few people until the gates opened and we got to upgrade our tickets. WOOHOO!
The wait was excruciating. Plus there were a lot of snobby people around. lol Tyler and I were at a table and we were practically cuddling and he was tweeted about the snobby people on the table next to ours and I just replied to him IN A TWEET even though I was right next to him, that they were just jealous of our youth. Then he replied with. I like how we are here, not even an inch from each other cuddling, and we tweet to each other instead of talk. lol We got some food and I got a shirt and the new Idina EP and then we sat and listened to the Symphony play for an hour. It was nice. But then I got really excited and my heart started pounding and I thought I was gonna faint. No lie. O.o WTF was that?!
Then she came out and I was just, I was just... I dont know what I was, but hell she just started being all cute and waving and while she waved she grabbed her underarm cause it giggled a bit. HAHAHA I thought it was adorable. And it didnt even giggle that much. She was just being funny. XD
She started the set with Life of The Party. AMAZING! I love that song. :) When the song was over she asked if it was a bit pretentious to sing as if she was the life of the party? Then she asked for the lights to be turned on so she could actually see the crowd and OMG at one point she looked straight at me and I stopped breathing. YEP, I did. But I was right at the front so everybody in the front got that. That's why we pay VIP. lol And then she went on and talked about a girl who was not invited to many parties and she sang I'm Not That Girl. :) :) Then came Gorgeous. She chatted a bit more about how she might have needed to clean up her act because she was on stage with a symphony orchestra, she said no naughty and no cursing, but that she still needed to have prostitutes. And that turned into a song mash of Love For Sale and Roxanne, then she did Embraceable You. It was pretty. :) She talked some more about her life, her parents and RENT and then she sang No Day But Today. <3 <3 <3 At some point Tyler wrote a tweet directed to me and it said "Stop creaming yourself" He's so mean!!! lol It was not too far from the truth though. I was in ecstasy. Selena replied to it too. I love how they all mock me and they all have their dorky, weird fanaticism with something or someone. Some more chat about Idina and about pumping her boobs on the plane because she is still breast feeding her baby and how she makes up songs all the time for Walker. She sang a sorta swing song that she sings to her baby. Good Morning, Walker. <3 Then she talked about the other man in her life and sang Where Do I Begin. Some more chat and then she sang For Good and left the stage after waving goodbye for a while and taking a look at the crowd. A minute or so later she came right back and sang Defying Gravity. She sat down and thanked everybody and then something fell and Idina stopped and asked if it was somebody who had fallen then someone yelled "Tell us a story" and Idina said "I've been talking my ass off" lol hahaha she cursed. XD And then she said I suck at this and then I dont know what the fuck that was. AND SHE FAILED!!! Then she did Tomorrow. <3 <3 <3 Awww And that was it. *sigh*
Yes, it was GLORIOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My next post will consist of the pictures and the videos. :) Too late to add them now. I'm off to catch a few Zzzz But first...
