I have wanted to comment on the finale since the moment I finished watching it, but I have been in a very non-posting mood. I still am. I'm making an effort here LOL

Dean doesn't make friends with other people because Sam lets him down, or because he can't turn to Sam...that's really dismissive. He makes friends with other people because he values them and they value Dean, and they make a connection, and a friendship grows. Dean is allowed to (and should) have his own life and his own relationships outside his brother (and so should Sam), but apparently Sam (and most of the time Dean too) seems to not get it.This is something that I feel the show desperately needs to get past, otherwise they're gonna be stuck in a continuous loop with no development on either side ( ... )

Belated response to belated thoughts, lol...I only just finally caught up on the last 4 epps since Taxi Driver tonight, lol (with a slice of pie, even! ;)). IA with many of your thoughts here, especially about Cas not having agency (I had hoped he would close the gates of heaven and simply choose to remain behind, preferring the human world now after all that has happened since s5--I don't want more angst about being cut off like in s5, given how much more time he has spent on Earth) and being bummed about the loss of Abaddon's awesome meatsuit--she was so perfect, I don't want to see a new actor in the role either, unless they can be consistent ( ... )

Super-belated reply to belated comment to belated thoughts.. LOL

I agree on the cutting down on the episode count. 23 is too many, 15 would be best, given the show's terrible issues with pacing and with balacing mytharc and MOtW episodes. It will never happen, though!

And while I think there were MANY problems in this season, overall I enjoyed more than you did. I wouldn't say it was terrible... it was better than season 6 and 7, even though I'm terribly worried about many things, and I don't trust these writers at all... and now Edlund won't even be there anymore. Sigh.

Prayer circle for season 9 to do justice to human!Cas, and not just turning him into the butt of lame-ass jokes.
