I'm not gonna lie. After reading your poem, I was so affected that I began to cry and urinate because I could not control my body or emotions. Anyone who can not relate to that poem is obviously a robot.

The poem...i weeped...i masturbated...i EXPERIENCED what you spoke of...but one thing disturbed me...the pronoun references...let me cite lines 5-9: "BUT THE LIEONZ STILL FIND THEM/AND EAT THEIR FACES/WITH THEIR SHARP TEETH/WILL THEY EVER FIND PEACE?/WILL THEY EVER?" Now in line five the word them references the zebras, and in line six the word their also references the zebras, but alas in line 7 their suddenly refers to LIEONZ again...which both hurt and confused me...

I too am lonely.

I used the ambiguity of the word in question to try and further communicate the theme of loneliness to the reader. Upon first glance, the word "they" in lines 8 and 9 would refer to the zebras, as they are the ones seeking shelter from the shade, and, one could assume, the lions. However, as you estutely pointed out, I used "their" to refer to both the lions and zebras immediately previous. Therefore, "they" could refer to the lions equally as much. I like to think that I used poetic licence here to refer to both the lions and zebras collectively. More specifically, it is both those that are being consumed, as well as the consumers that cannot find, in a general sense, peace. However, for the zebras, this sense of peace is much more simple: they simply want to be left alone. For them, the peace is simply a sense of relaxation and enjoyment. While the lions were introduced into the poem much later, it is their sense of peace that is much more complicated. They must kill others simply to sustain themselves, and it is because of this
