The whole day has been pretty awesome, if Finn says so himself.

He'd known that his and Kurt's six-month anniversary had been coming up for a little while now--there had been various minor panics involved in it; one being that he couldn't for the life of him remember the exact day it was, another being that he's generally really stupid about gifts and he hadn't known what to get--but for the most part, it had just been a sense of quiet awe. Six months is...kind of impressive. And it had gone really fast.

And, more importantly, Finn can honestly say that he's been more balanced, happier, in these past six months than he had been for a long time before it.

So those mild panics had been easy enough to deal with. (Granted, with a good amount of freaking out at other people--Abby, chiefly, since she's pretty much Kurt's best friend.) Not knowing the exact day...that was okay-ish (even if he still kinda felt like a dick for it), he could just go off of Kurt for that, he'd get it. Gifts...Abby had told him just to think of what Kurt liked best, and he'd come up with something wonderful--"Honestly, Finn, you could get him anything and he'd love it because it came from you," she'd teased him--so now that's covered too. Pretty well, he thinks.

The exact day had come in the form of Finn waking up to a tray with his favorite breakfast foods on it (including Cap'n Crunch, hell yes), Terminator on the giant TV across from the bed, and Kurt smiling widely beside him. And, indeed, Finn had gotten it pretty damn quickly. "Hey, Kurt," he'd said a little stupidly (because words, as usual, had rather failed him), but his own returned grin had said everything needed. (Or, if not, the tender kiss just after might have done the job.)

So they'd laid in the bed, wrapped comfortably up in each other (after the food was gone, of course) as they watched the movie, and Finn had just...felt warm. Happy. (He and Quinn hadn't even really celebrated their six-month, when Finn had actually thought about it.)

They had been about halfway through Terminator 2 when Kurt announced that he had something to take care of really quick, and he'd be back in a flash--Finn had let him go, but not without another kiss--so now he's chilling with his arms behind his head, watching the movie and thinking about a small box hidden in the nightstand on his side of the bed, wondering when the best time to give it would be. He's not hugely worried, though; he'll figure it out. For right now, he'll just wait for Kurt to get back from whatever it is he had to do.
