Seems like an all round shithouse day for women. We just lost our first female Prime Minister to the guy that got dumped to give her the job in the first place.

What?! How did that happen? I thought she was in for at least another couple years, though I know being a PM isn't as hard and fast as being the president is.

I have no clue what happened. They've been yammering for days about it so I stopped paying attention. It's either 3 or 4 years per term, I forget which, and the next election is actually this September. It's all so damn stupid.

Oh, boy. Lemme go read a little about it and hopefully I'll understand it. (Which may not be likely because I'm still perplexed by how the English run their government, tbh.)

Only so long as they don't do the next special session, at least as far as I know. Texas is an odd place, let me just say.

Seriously. I hope that the cool Texans can push the awful ones off onto some state that's just endlessly heinous like Arizona.

I have so many FEELINGS ABOUT THE SCOTUS RIGHT NOW. Like, just, how are they even real people? To go from removing the core of the VRA, only to leave any reworking to the wolves in Congress, to ruling DOMA unconstitutional. I just can't with them. Especially since they could have gone further with DOMA/Prop 8 so that gay marriage/marriage equality is legal in every state because it's their god damn job that they've been fucking up for a while now. (I'm still really angry/disappointed with California for having a right that was just granted to us decided by the majority, not just that they decided to continue denying it.)
