i had to traverse 10 miles (of snowed-over goop) to Saugus, and for once i enjoyed the somnambulent and skittish Sunday drivers!
Way too many knuckleheads don't use their headlights in poor visibility, but that was the worst of their crimes today. :)

Today used to be St. Lucia's Day for Christian saint-worshippers. Her name is derived from the Latin "lux" for light, & festivals for her involve light ceremonies. Appropriate for the darkest day! ;)
But, according to the Farmer's Almanac, the Gregorian calendar reform of 1752 changed her feast day to YOUR birthday, the 13th!
