Birthday!

On the whole, a VERY good day!

I am still more than a little pissed off at the fact that at half past nine at night, I had to text my so called best friend and ask her why she hadn't even text me to say happy birthday. The response was 'Oh fuck, I knew I forgot something'

Charming.

Since 1997 we have been best friends. I have never forgotten anything important that was happening in her life. And she can't even be bothered to set a reminder on her phone about my birthday. I don't think I'm being unreasonable in feeling upset still.

Before that, we went shopping. Since Christmas I have had 2 pairs of jeans that I like wearing. One pair was a lot nicer than the other. Noticed the past tense? That's because I wore them so much that they started to wear away, and a few weeks ago I put my foot through one of the worn patches. Needless to say, they are slightly worse now than they were before. In fact, the one leg is only hanging on by the seam! Lol.

So, I opened my first few cards, got some money, and Chris and I decided we would go to Spytty (the biggest group of shops close to us) and I would get some jeans, and maybe a few new tops to go with them.

There wasn't even anything halfway decent there. No nice jeans, no nice trousers, no good tops, nothing.

So now, I have to wait til Tuesday when Chris is free and will take me to Cwmbran.

All this, and I don't even like shopping all that much!
On the plus side, Mum felt sorry for me when I told her and so on Thursday, she is taking me to Culver House Cross to do even more shopping. Like I just said, it's not the shopping that's good, but any chance I get to spend time with Mum is a good thing :)

And now, the presents :)

I was partly right with my previous list. I did get The Crystal Singer Omnibus from Chris. All three books in the series, a very good series too. A fantasy/ sci- fi, focusing on a unique group of people who use their vocal talents to locate and gather crystal that responds to harmonic frequencies. Written like that it sounds awful, but it's actually amazing. And the Sudoku cube, which I have forbidden everyone from touching. If no one touches it, it wont ever get messed up, and I can spend the rest of my life pretending I have just finished solving it to people who don't know better than to believe me!

Thanks to Play.com royally screwing up the charges for those two items and charging him twice, I ended up finding out what I was getting, and he felt guilty. So, he also bought me a necklace. A St. Christopher on one side and a guardian angel on the other. I've wanted one for a while, and whereas it isn't the replacement for the broken engagement that I was hoping for, it was an incredibly sweet gesture that served to remind me why I love this man so very much.

Mum bought jewelry- a matching necklace and earring set with black stones and thick silver lining, very posh looking, and two new belly bars, both black, one with a little star with multicolored stones in, and the other with a kingfisher hanging off it with glittered wings. She also bought another necklace and earring set with butterflies and hoops and thin chains, but that was to say thank you for helping out with the NVQ course she is currently doing through work.

My sister bought me hairsticks- white wood with flowers etched in to the top in a light brown with the occasional dab of glitter.

Lloyd bought me a giant chocolate pig with Happy Birthday Vic iced on to it.

Gareth, after being prompted by Chris, bought me two of the four brain ship books. The Brainship series being another fantasy/ sci- fi series. This one deals with a space travel program. People who are born with crippling physical disabilities are enrolled in to the brainship program, and, if successful, they are placed in a ship.  Literally, 'in' it. Instead of their brain controlling their limbs, it controls the ship. The ship becomes a replacement for the body that nature and genetics stole from them,

Again it sounds slightly horrifying here lol, but the actual series is fantastic!

So, Tuesday and Thursday I will be adding to my birthday list by spending my money.

And at some point soon I like to think my supposed best friend will apologize.

Oh, look at that! A pig just flew past my window!

Still, no need to worry about that. At the time, I admit, I was too drunk to worry about anything! I had a full bottle of something we bought incredibly cheaply from Tesco. I couldn't tell you what it was or what it was called lol. Then I started pinching whatever I could find unattended. Considering I had to get up early this morning to go down Lloyd's and pick up my presents from him and Gareth, and that Mum popped up early to see me 'coz she was working all day yesterday, I wasn't at all careful to avoid getting hung over.

Luckily for me, Chris's running means there's loads of Isotonic drinks around, so I stole some of those to help myself recover!

What a night. And morning. Half past 2 I decided my craving for chocolate couldn't be ignored any longer, so 3 am saw me stealing chocolate coins from the girls! We used the table umbrella to block off one end of the gazebo and trap the heat in, and spent most of the night laughing hysterically at the drunken louts in the pub across the road as they complained about the noise we were making!
 Awesome night!
