I personally think that its always worth it to have a job that is going to sustain and inspire you when possible. I recognize that there are tons of different reasons (economic and otherwise) that doesnt make this possible for everyone. And that there is a lot of privilege to be able to make some sacrifices in order to have the job that you would love. But if you do have that privilege, take it!
But first negotiate a little on salary. I think a lot of non-profs build in a little wiggle room in order to recruit their favorite applicant.
