In short, Toronto Pride sucks. It's a "free" festival but you have to go into beer gardens to hear any of the programming and you aren't allowed to bring in any food or even water into the gardens. You have to buy everything there

I've been to Vancouver Pride...they have a big celebration at the end of the march/parade, that includes food but no beer. Up in the Gay hood, they have a fenced off beer garden in the middle of the street, and that's where you drink outside, or go to a bar. I like how it works there, since you can totally avoid being around alcohol if you want...but I like beer : )
