After a great weekend with the kids

We had to deal with getting mugged. Indigo and I both. On our street. Two blocks away from home. He was wearing a zipped up hoodie so that we couldn't see his face. He was young and threatened us with a "gun". I didn't believe him ofcourse and argued with him. Told him he should show me the gun if I were to believe he actually had one. I

Okay, I know everyone is scolding you for arguing with the guy but I have to say, I admire your ability to not let your fear overpower you. I was invovled in an armed robbery and I just freaked out and ran. I left everyone behind. There was no bravery only 100% full blown fear. I still feel ashamed that my flight instinct was so strong. I wish that I could have stayed in my head and body and reacted rather than react first and think later. The thing is, you had intuition that they guy didn't have a gun or that the situation wasn't super dire and you were right. You should feel good that your intuition was right on.

Still, I am sure there is some traumatic feelings that come up, regardless of you ability to empathize with his position. Allow yourselves to feel those. It is important not to close yourself off from anything that this might have triggered in you (this goes for Indigo too.) Not tryng to be preachy or anything, I just say this from experience

Oh My gosh! I can't believe that this happened to you. And that I talked to you on the phone last night and you didn't mention it. Grrrr....I hope you are OK. I'm sure you have all kinds of crazy emotions and feelings welling up inside of you right now and I can't even begin to imagine what they all must be or how you might feel. Please let me know how I can be supportive to you during this time. I care about you and Indigo so much and I am so thankful that you were not hurt.
