Ah my trip is almost over (24 hour epic journey to Korea not included)...good very good stuff largely thanks to the worderful Amanda Jenkin who doesn't get near enough mention in my blog.

Okay, my lack of planning was costing me money, so I made plans.

Took the bus to Te Anau and then hiked out to a "hut" on the Kepler Track (25km each way, spent the night), and then was supposed to catch a tour to the Milford Sound which would take me back to Queenstown and I'd catch a flight from there in the morning.

Okay, so it's not a Sisyphean task to buy an airline ticket, but I have saved myself some big cash in the past by scouting around, e.g., for awhile Northwest's Korean site was about 15% cheaper than their US site ( Read more... )

Okay, I've put up about two dozen games for sale, though at not exactly fire sale prices. Partially, because I may want to replace some of 'em, and secondly, boardgames are ludicrously expensive in Australia, so I may be able to make a tidy sum auctioning them off and then delivering to the land down under ( Read more... )

Went out last night with a few friends after work. Had a tasty gorgonzola pizza that was only marred by the honey they drizzled over it. There was  an additional sauce, which they thankfully served on the side, which tasted like a mix of soy sauce and maple syrup ( Read more... )
