a few thoughts (again)

So in the past week I've seen In The Heights, Take Me Along at the Irish Rep, The Adding Machine for the second time, and Cry-Baby. I don't discuss The Adding Machine below, but I've seen it twice. Clearly I like it. :) My thoughts are long, cause I talk about three shows. You don't have to read them all. We can still be friends.

from what i've been hearing, people are saying cry baby a bonafide flop. and apparently people have been waiting for a show this season to be one >.

I absolutely loved In the Heights off-Broadway.
Yes, she was a little old to be playing a college freshman, and yes, Usnavi's self-discovery is the emotional center of the show.
I marveled in the whole thing. A few times it was hard to hear articulation, but it was an amazing welcoming old-fashioned style journey.

I love love loved it.
I don't think it will do well.
Emotionally, I was right there in Miranda's pocket.

Mark! I suck! I'm so so sorry I never got in touch and we didn't get to hang out. I would have loved to have seen you, but--with only being in town a few days--I got tied up with family and work obligations. :( Have an awesome Easter! Hopefully I'll see you soonish.
