"these hills have eyes":

most digusting movie i've ever seen. i've lost my "horror" movie fan edge. the first 30 mins, were awesome. very suspenceful, lots of screams etc. fun.

then, the 10 min clip that has burned holes into my retinas.

i think horror's lost it's function. good horror used to be rife with social commentary. now the only commentary is that people are so desensitized to violence that they need something that extreme to actually evoke a response.

well, he was trying to be socially conscious, and talk about his overwhelming distaste for americans, and american culture, but it was so blatant, and had little function. he was trying to make you feel bad for the mutant people because the americans tested nuclear weapons near their homes, even though they were asked to leave.

go figure.
