Summary: Jealousy is a strange thing, really.
Clark loved his new english teacher. He was so different from Mr. Mason. Mr. Mason was old and had the disgusting habit of clearing his throat every two seconds. Mr. Prambs was 35, single and funny. It was a pitty that they only had a month left of classes until graduation.
They were reading 'Pride and Prejudice' and Mr. Prambs had grabbed the book and made it interesting for almost every student in the class in just an hour. Clark loved the book already.
And of course, Chloe and Lana had been chatting about how hot and cute the professor was. Clark wasn't blind. He could see the man was handsome. He had dirty blond hair, blue eyes, was tall, not as tall as Clark of course, but maybe, as tall as Lex, and surely, he did work out. Because he was fit.
"I bet he's such a romantic," Chloe said and sighed. Lana nodded her agreement and Clark just smiled. Half of the girls in the class were in love with Mr. Prims already. They walked into the Talon and Lana and Chloe stopped. Mr. Prambs was there, sitting at a table, drinking coffee and reading a book, alone.
"Should we stop by and said hi?" Lana asked nervously. Before Chloe could answer, Mr. Prambs lifted his gaze and saw his students. He put down then book and waved at them, motioning them to come over.
The girls beamed excitedly and hurried over the table. Clark chuckled and followed his friends.
"Hi, Mr. Prambs," he said.
"Mr. Kent, hi. Have a seat please. Join us," Mr. Prambs said. Lana and Chloe were sitting down already and smiled up at Clark. Clark thought it was a little odd, to sit down with your teacher at the Talon, but did. Mr. Prambs, who's name was Brian, insisted that they should call him Brian when they weren't in classes and started telling stories about his time in university.
Soon, all of Mr. Prambs student's that arrived, joined them. They all laughed and asked questions to 'Brian'. He answered them and listened to his students stories too. Chloe had plenty of spooky stories. Lana told stories about Paris. And so they were, happily talking, when Lex walked into the Talon.
Clark looked at his friend and grinned. He excused himself and got up, going to him. Lex was ordering a coffee and looking for a table when Clark came to his side.
"Lex!" he said happily.
"Clark," Lex greeted, smiling too. Then nodded to were Brian and the students were. "What's going on?"
"Oh, it's the new english teacher? Remember I told you Mr. Mason broke his leg? Well, they sent us Brian... I mean, Mr. Prambs. He's amazing, really. You should meet him, Lex. I'm sure you too would have a lot to talk about," Clark said cheerfully. Lex lifted an eyebrow.
"Oh, yes?" Lex said.
"He went to Met-U and he's not that old. He's 35." Clark argued.
"Very young indeed. And you said that Prambs is his name?" Lex asked. Clark nodded. Lex smiled. He couldn't resist to Clark anyway, so he grabbed his coffee and said. "Lead the way. Let's meet this misterious Mr. Prambs."
Clark blushed in delight and walked in front of Lex. When they arrived to the group, Brian eyes widened at the sight of Lex.
"Mr. Luthor!" he exclaimed, trying to stand up. Lex lifted a hand.
"Please, don't stand up. And it's just Lex, Mr. Prambs," Lex said politely. Clark grinned, proud of his friend. Mr. Prambs smiled at Lex and then nodded.
"It's just Brian, then, Lex," he said and there was a way he said Lex's name that Clark didn't like. But he let it go, because it was nothing really. But when Lex smiled at Mr. Prambs, Clark found himself wanting to pout. Lex didn't smile like that to people that weren't, well, him. Or his mom. He smiled, of course, but politely. He restrained himself and sat down.
"Please join us, Lex. I see you are Clark's friend..." Mr. Prambs said and Lex sat besides Clark without protesting. Clark opened his mouth. He couldn't believe it, he could hardly get Lex to agree to spend some time with Chloe, Lana and Pete and suddenly Mr. Prambs had him sitting down with a bunch of high school kids in all of two seconds? Clark crossed his arms and pouted.
Mr. Prambs continued to talk and Lex listened, interested. Clark got more infuriated at every second. Then, someone declared how late it was and students scattered away. There was only left Clark, Lex and Mr. Prambs at the table.
Lex and Mr. Prambs talked... flirted Clark thought was more likely, but the thought made him want to threw up. And of course completely ignored Clark. Mr. Prambs leaned closer to Lex and quoted stuff about Alexander the Great that made Lex laugh. Laugh! And when he touched Lex's leg to remove some 'lint' Clark blushed hard and stood up.
"I have to go," he said. Lex blinked, as if he had forgotten that Clark was actually there and got up too.
"I'll give you a lift. It's quite late. Brian, do you need...?" Lex offered and Clark prayed to whatever god that listened to Kryptonians that Mr. Prambs had his own car.
"No, thanks. I have my own car parked just a few blocks away. Thanks, Lex. I hope to see you around...?" Mr. Prambs said. Clark mentally yelled 'yay' and felt a little girlish.
"Of course. You should stop by the manor sometime and have a drink with me," Lex said and Clark's month hang open. Had Lex, Lex, Mr. I-guard-my-privacy-over-anything just invited a virtual stranger to his place? He just couldn't believe it.
"That's very nice. I will, thank you," Mr. Prambs said and leaned closer to Lex. Lex smiled, one of his sexy's smiles and Clark pulled his arm, feeling childish and possessive all at once.
"Let's go, Lex?" he urged. Lex nodded and smiled one last time to Mr. Prambs.
"It was a pleasure, Brian."
"Same here, Lex. Bye Clark," Mr. Prambs said.
"Bye," Clark murmured and pulled Lex out. Once outside, Lex tried to pull his arm free, but Clark was having none of that. Lex gave up the fight after the second time, but he stopped walking.
"Clark, stop," he said. He didn't sound mad and Clark thought that was good. Because he couldn't explain why, but he just *couldn't* let go Lex right now.
"What?" Clark barked in response, a bit defensive.
"What's wrong?" Lex asked, looking into his friends eyes. They were a little wild. Lex cocked his head to one side and waited.
"Nothing. It's just... Mr. Prambs!!" he managed to said, really angry.
"I thought you liked Brian," Lex said, confused.
"I did, until he started flirting with you!" Clark accused. Lex mouth opened and then closed.
"Oh," Lex whispered at last. "Clark, Brian likes you too. I'm sure he does. You don't have to worry about me. You should had mentioned sooner that you liked Brian that way. I will just move myself from the equation...!" Lex started, with his business tone. Clark pulled him closer, none too gently, exhasperated.
"You don't understand," he said through greeted teeth.
"Sure I do. You like Brian. I got in the way. You won't have to worry about that anymore. I'm sorry, by the way. There's no need to get jealous or make an scene, Clark. You are my friend, my best friend, and I will always choose you before..." the rest of the sentence was muffled by Clark's hand covering Lex's mouth. He moved his face just inches from Lex face. He didn't know what was going on with him, but whatever it was, it was giving him the guts to tell Lex what he wanted to tell him for such a long time.
"Lex, I was jealous. You are right about that one. You are wrong about the rest. I wasn't jealous because I thought Mr. Prambs liked you instead of me. I don't give a fuck about who likes or don't likes Mr. Prambs. I was jealous because *you* liked Mr. Prambs and *you* flirted back. You gave him *my* smiles and you laughed with him and you let him lean closer and touch you. It got me crazy. It made me snap. I seriously thought I was going to snap his neck or something," Clark confessed and uncovered Lex's mouth.
Lex looked at him suspiciously and then looked around. "Who are you and what you have done with Clark Kent?" he demanded seriously. Clark rolled his eyes and shook Lex a little bit.
"Lex..." Clark growled. Lex moved his hand and touched Clark's jaw.
"Clark," he said in wonder, like recognizing him. "Oh, Clark..."
Clark felt his heart beat faster with fear. Lex was going to let him down. Gently, of course. Lex cared about him, as a friend, but as nothing else. He closed his eyes and waited for the punch. But instead a cold hand touched his lips. He opened his eyes and looked into Lex's blue ones and felt the rush of possessiveness.
"Tell me, Lex," he demanded, pushing Lex against the car and trapping him there with his huge body. Lex panted a little and looked up at Clark. He lifted his hand to touch Clark's lips again, but Clark caught the hand in the air.
"You don't get to touch until you have told me," he said in a growl. Lex cocked his head to the side and frowned.
"Pushy tonight, aren't we?" he said, but before Clark could answer, he continued. "Clark, there's no reason for you to be jealous. Not now, not ever. There's no one that could caught my attention, because you stole my heart years ago. You own me. There's no Brian, Jack, Bruce or John. Not Victoria, Elizabeth or Mary. There's no one else for me, except you."
Clark smiled, finally letting go of the hand he had trapped and leaned in for a kiss. The kiss lacked of technique, but was magnificent. Lex opened up under him and they kissed, dark, passionately and full of love. When they pulled back, Lex pushed Clark back and Clark allowed him, protesting a little. Now he was reassured, he felt more calm, but still possessive.
"Why don't we hop in the car and go somewhere else more private?" Lex suggested. Clark looked around and realized, for the first time, that they were in a parking lot, in the middle of Smallville. He blushed hard.
"Okay," he agreed. He had to let go of Lex to get in the car, but as soon they were both in, he grabbed Lex hand again. Lex smiled at him.
"There are things I have to tell you, Lex," Clark said seriously. Lex nodded.
"No matter what are you, Clark Kent, I'll always love you," Lex said.
"Promise?"
"Promise," Lex answered.
The End
