Crash? What the fuck?

Am I the only one thinks its over-rated?

It was the only film nominated that I didn't want to win.

Crash was perfectly fine melodrama. I never saw Good Night or Brokeback, but I'm glad Munich didn't win.

Crash just felt so contrived. And I quite liked Munich. I thought it was a rather excited, well directed film.

Still no love for A History of Violence.

Munich went on far too long, and when the larger political issues came up, the entire movie crumbled. It was a valiant effort, but it worked best in the first hour and forty-five minutes as a thriller. Amazing performances though. The actors were snubbed.

Crash was contrived, but its a melodrama, which is, by definition, contrived. As a morality tale/fable, it worked well enough, I thought.

A History of Violence, of course, should have been nominated and won, but it's virtues are a bit too cereberal for mass appeal.
