I honestly don't believe i have as much potential for evil or malice as some people do. I can't even relate to willful cruelty. when confronted with the idea that the entire human race is like that... for example here, I am just baffled. it's like people like me don't even exist to those who think everyone is evil inside ( Read more... )

The reason I'm not a nice person is because I have taken other people's crap my entire life, and still do. That does not a nice person make. Also I think I have a genetic tendency toward being a bitch, like you have toward being nice. If conditions were optimal (all my needs were being met, I was happy) I would still probably be a bit of a bitch. *shrugs* But I'm a superbitch now.

honestly, i do think it is partially a genetic tendency or something you are born with.. just from observing others and because ive taken lots of people's crap too... i think someone like you could be a nice person in the right conditions, but still maybe a little hard as opposed to gentle? anyways that is an admirable trait in many ways.

there's this belief system that was actually very popular when china was united, well the one who united it made the belief popular lol, it was called legalism, it is the belief that all humans are inherently evil and that the only thing that can prevent this is rules and regulations to contain the beast, in fact they had a lot of taoists killed since they weren't trusted, i mean taoism is all about inner beauty and how we're all pure inside and how to just let go and just be ( ... )

I have a problem deciding which one to put my reply on so i'll choose the most recent lol, but i agree with you on this account, competitiveness and cooperativeness is a yin yang relationship, but i find to truly succeed in life one must know when to move from one to the other, when to be the leader and when to be led. Also on the premise of competitiveness creating more chances of survival, completely true, i wrote a journal entry awhile back on what was more essential, finding inner peace as a society or technological progression as a society, because i don't feel as a species one can have both at the same time, technological progression is often fueled by inner conflict and only in some situations does progression result from inner peace, a realization of truth perhaps, or a way of modifying the body's internal working. In the end if intense will power and focus is combined with a sense of inner peace there might be more progression on that which counts. On the last point of the most recent i completely agree, resource consumption ( ... )
