i dont think its really against the pop icon factor of it but more the mainstream's false perception of what music is, which i agree with. its bullshit that anybody could be a singer these days based on looks and fashion and how "cool" they are, while a lot of people with a lot of talent are being looked over. and now its become acceptable, in addition to not being able to really sing in the first place, to use a vocal track live to rely on and fall back on when you suck ass... these people should not have the right to call themselves musicians..
i mean, dont get me wrong. i spent the day listening to the new lindsay lohan track, the new britney spears cd and kiley minogue and i happen to like ashlee simpson's cd from what ive heard so its not that i'm against pop music or icons but as far as the live factor going so they could work on their sweet moves is just weak. and id be just as upset to find out someone with an amazing voice, such as alicia keyes or somebody, did the same.
