Sing, muse, of the passion of the pistol

I am offically excited for April 8th. Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin's new album and Colin Meloy Sings Live! are released on the same day. Okay, I already had all the tracks from Colin's live record for ages, but it's still gonna be lovely to have them in CD quality instead of a bootleg and I can't wait to see the artwork, Carson Ellis can ( Read more... )

tells as in present tense? You're still in contact with him?

and for the random questions: What are your top 3 albums? Who's really inspired you lately? Do you have some sort of dreamgoal that keeps your heart in beat?

'Tells' as in whenever I ask him. That's usually when I see him in person, I do get special treatment xD. I'm not in contact with him constantly, though I could contact him if there was something important, he's a busy bee.

Ah, that's such a tough question. Top 2, okay? I honestly couldn't pick a third one. Top two are The D's Picaresque and the Smiths' The Queen Is Dead. Quite predictable, I know, but what can I do?
Lately, I've been quite inspired by Dylan Thomas, if you haven't read Under Milk Wood, do it now, it's a play for voices that's really amazing, I've read it three times in the last couple of months. I'm usually not inspired by certain people though, I find inspiration in all kinds of things. The Science Of Sleep, which is an incredible film by Michel Gondry has really gotten to me lately. I've already talked about it on here, don't know if you watched it or not ( ... )

Picaresque is probably my favourite Decemberists album too (though there's really, really something special about Castaways & Cutouts)

Would you be doing an exhange or moving their permanantly? Either way your goal is pretty similar to mine. Actually a lot of people share this goal, which is partly i why want to move there. It's where things happen.

I kind of feel like the only person who didn't really like Darjeeling Limited! I thought it needed 1) editing 2) a five minute sequel where the mother gets eaten by the tiger. y/n?

haha yeah, the mother kinda sucked. And Jason Schwartzman is disgusting.
Don't know 'bout the editing, though. I didn't mind. And you're not the only one, I've talked to a few people who didn't like it, but then again, you also don't like Gilmore Girls, so there must be something wrong with you xD

I just felt that the plot was kind of lumbering and bloated. It wasn't a terrible movie, and Wes Anderson's worst is some student film masterpiece but I expected better from him! And I love Jason Schwartzman. :( But he was playing a very very gross character, very unappealing, haha!

I've only ever seen Jason Schwartzman in that one and Marie Antoinette (which I didn't like at all), so I can't really judge, my dislike of him is mostly based on his characters. And I don't think he's an extraordinary good actor either, but it's not that I really think he's gross or anything. But the moustache was gross-o-licious, don't you think so?
I guess I was a bit biased towards that film 'cause I really really dig Adrien Brody and I like Wes Anderson films, so I liked it, not overly so, but still.
