So I got an acceptance letter from Washington University today! I am one of 1,350 admitted out of a pool of over 22,000 applicants, so I feel pretty special. I kind of wish I was more excited - I mean, obviously it's great news, because now I know that I can go to one of my top four schools for sure. How is it that I have two posts on my friendspage in a row talking about Explosions in the Sky? (atomic_goo got to see them last night, apparently.)

At any rate, I'd love the DN soundtrack. Have you heard the second opening? It's RIDICULOUSLY bad. It might be a decent HARDXCORE rawk song in its own right, but for Death Note? Does not compute. (I am personally much more fond of this version.)

Explosions in the Sky is a pretty awesome group. They're a bit too mellow for me to really listen to extensively, as I like things I can rock out and/or dance to, but it's good background music for writing. And the DN soundtrack is amazingly good writing music.

And ew, that song. Like, I can understand how they might go "Hmm, Death Note is really creepy and dark, and so that makes it Gothic, and Gothic automatically means that screamo nu-Metal Slipknot rip-off bands must come into play somehow, and I guess this is what the kids are listening to these days." But still.

Trust me, the actual soundtrack is way more fitting.

CONGRATS ABOUT COLLEGE!!!

Thats so exciting--but dont you dare complain. Youre really smart so OF COURSE you would get in.

And, yes, I want Death Note soundtrack.

Speaking of which I need to bug Em so I can read more.
