Oh, thank god. Heh - like I said I had no beta for this piece and I'd reached the point where I'd spent so much time on it I couldn't tell if it was any good.

I'm glad you liked it. And, considering Fraser's peculiar aplomb in 'Some Like it Red.' I kind of imagine he'd be able to cross-dress long term, properly motivated.

Yeah, I was sad about Diefenbaker too (thus his death happening off screen) but I needed something to be Fraser's 'last straw' and that seemed fitting.

Lovely plot I liked the way the cross dressing was worked in there it worked well.

And Bella was still Benton Fraser underneath which was interesting.

Enjoyable stuff.

Thank you. I was looking for some way to make the crossdressing part of the story without doing the usual 'cross dress for some police case' thing. LOL - I don't think Benton can get away from himself no matter how hard he tries.

Oh, where to start?

Fraser was playing with his breasts when the phone rang.

Best. Introduction. Ever. If I could show this to my kids as an example of how to begin a story, I would.

There's so much I loved about this that I could end up quoting the whole thing. Cross-dressing Fraser is becoming one of my kinks, and Ray actually going for cross-dressing Fraser just makes it so much better.

This was a terrific read.

Yup, it's scary. I have quite a few other cross dressing scenes that I wrote that didn't end up in the story. For whatever reason, the idea was very compelling. And, yeah, I wanted not just tolerance from Ray regarding the cross-dressing but a certian amount of attraction to it.

Yay! A what-if story! I *heart* what-if stories!! And you wrote quite an amazing story! There was something about Fraser dressing in drag for Ray that just made my heart sing with the absolute sweetness of it all. And it was long, and plotty, and full of wonderful goodness!! (Errr ... sorry about the abuse of the exclamation mark. However, this was totally worth the abuse!)

LOL -thanks! I love what-if's too. I guess its related to the fact taht I could never color just in the lines when I was a kid either, I have to explore all those odd nooks and crannies.

Yes, I miss plot and length in due South stories, right now the fad seems to be short, PWPs and romantic bits.

Yep, the ending was just as wonderful as the beginning. I really loved this story. And you worked in a plot, too, that would be just so Fraser to get involved with, while *also* giving us a subplot with Queenie and Dief. Such a great range of emotion in the fic, too: sad, angry, hot, and funny. These lines both cracked me up:

Holly, who was working on her childhood education degree as well as a fiance with depression and probably needed to work on her tendency to overshare personal information

He narrowed his eyes and tried to look greedy. It made him look nearsighted.

And "Carl DeVille"! Hee. I loved this.

Thanks. Yeah, it was sort of everywhere, emotionally. But the length allowed for more emotional range than a short story would.
