As adamdobay pointed out, you have to force yourself to do it for 30 days. After the 30 day marker, your unconscious mind files whatever it is into the 'stuff I do every day' folder, at which point it becomes as easy to do as, say, showering or brushing your teeth.
The real challenge is to keep yourself focused during the daily practice once it has become routine. It should never be allowed to fall to the level of tooth-brushing, even if it's similarly habitual.
In order to do this, I try to keep ever in mind that the contact with the Divine which I am seeking through performing my daily rituals is a gift. I'm earning my way to the Kingdom of Heaven, day by day, and the gods are matching my efforts with aid from their side.
