Begging Buddha, Lao-tzu Walking

There have been times when I have given very serious consideration to packing a book, some notebooks and pens, a little money, maybe a couple of disposable cameras... and just wandering for a while. Leave. Not forever. Not give up my dreams. Just learn to live life a little bit more courageously. Maybe all of America is my bodhi tree.

We have a little village about 25 kilometres from Budapest, it's called Dobogókő, which may translate to "Beating stone" (as in heartbeat). The whole area has high energy levels, people who go there sometimes get healed miraculously, so the usual stuff. I have been told by a news reporter slash seer-kind-of-guy that when the Dalai Lama came to Hungary, he asked to be taken to Dobogókő. The guy asked one of the Lama's officials what's all the hubbub, and he was told that since the occupation of Tibet, the monks who search for the reincarnations of people have not found their people there but in Hungary. I don't know how much of this is accurate but it is true that in the past eight-ten years there has been a sudden and quick uprise in the number of Buddhists and Krishnans and other related people in Hungary (probably other factors to that as well but it's still strange). Among others, Dobogókő has a whole Shaolin village. They write that the place is special because of the intercrossing energy lines ( ... )
