I agree with you in principle, however, I'd be completely hypocritical if I whined too loudly. There is this thing called Dragon*Con that is held Labor day weekend (F-M). I'm not going this year, but last year and hopefully next year, I'll be missing the orientation crap that happens before classes start at my school.
