01) Are you currently in a serious relationship?
I'm in serious relationships with all my friends and family. Maybe they're not romantic relationships, but I love them all the same! I'm very grateful to everybody I'm close to for sticking with me. I'm probably not the easiest person to be around sometimes. As for romance? That's a dead end until somebody drops me a ladder. I can wait until then.
02) What was your dream growing up?
The same as it is now - I want to be a professional writer. Of course, back then, I wanted to write stories about unicorns and fairies; now it's not quite so sunshine-and-rainbows. Gritty social problems for the win? :D
03) What talent do you wish you had?
Of course I long to be a better writer, but I'd really love to be able to draw and paint. I draw sometimes as a hobby, but I'm horrible at it. Practicing doesn't seem to improve me as much as I'd like it to, though over the years I'm very, very slowly getting better. Maybe one day I'll be passable at it; fingers crossed! It's my ambition to be able to draw a good comic strip.
04) If I bought you a drink what would it be?
I'll have a Pepsi Max or a Dr. Pepper if we're being good; if we're talking alcohol I'll have a malibu and coke, please.
05) Favorite vegetable?
Oh, cauliflower. Hands down. I also like raw peas, though.
06) What was the last book you read?
We're studying Brideshead Revisited in English Literature. It's ironic, really - because I've read it before, re-reading it now is like a mini revisit of my own! I love Sebastian.
07) What zodiac sign are you?
I'm an Aquarius, apparently. Every time someone tells me what an Aquarius should be like I seem to fit it, but I don't actually believe in this sort of thing.
08) Any Tattoos and/or Piercings? Explain where.
I have my ears pierced, and I nearly fainted when I got them done. My pain threshold is pathetic! I'd never get a tattoo, not that I condemn people who would and do - they look good on some people, but they're not right for me. If I had to get another piercing, I'd get my nose done - but it'd have to be by force.
09) Worst Habit?
Procrastination. I'm terrible for putting off work I really should be doing so that I can write or do something fun. It's landed me in trouble a couple of times, but I've always managed to pull something off. I'm good at working under pressure where deadlines are concerned.
10) If you saw me walking down the street would you offer me a ride?
If you were someone I knew - even only a little bit - then I definitely would, yes, especially if it was raining or snowing. You have to wipe your feet before you get in, though! I love my car and she doesn't like being dirty.
11) What is your favorite sport?
I don't play or watch any sports - none at all. If I had to choose a sport to watch, I'd probably pick figure skating, gymnastics, diving... something like that. I wouldn't watch it by choice, though; I just don't see the attraction. If I had to choose a sport to do myself, I'd probably say swimming. I do yoga sometimes, if that counts.
12) Do you have a Pessimistic or Optimistic attitude?
Terribly pessimistic; I'm a total cynic. I think it probably comes across in my work.
13) What would you do if you were stuck in an elevator with me?
I'm pretty socially awkward, so I'm not really sure. I probably wouldn't say a word to you unless you spoke to me first, and even then I'd struggle. Perhaps if we got stuck for a while and you kept trying I'd ease up a bit, but as I am I'm terrible for having random conversations. Maybe I'd just stick my iPod in and hope for the best?
14) Worst thing to ever happen to you?
I got knocked over by a car when I was twelve or thirteen. It still frightens me now. There have been a couple of bad moments, but I'd say most of them are just as a result of bad days. I'd describe my life as a series of peaks and troughs - sometimes it's just a case of being in the wrong place during a trough-time.
15) Tell me one weird fact about you.
Just one? Alright. I can't sleep if I'm myself. It's hard to explain, but I have to become a character before I can settle down. Maybe it's something to do with over-thinking the day; I don't know.
16) Do you have any pets?
I have a rabbit named Poppy - she's an old lady now, bless her soul - and two gerbils called Alex and Marco... recognise their names? Poppy lives in the garden, but Alex and Marco live in my room. They're very noisy sometimes, but I've learned to deal with them.
17) What if I showed up at your house unexpectedly?
Well, we've already discussed how good I am at making conversation. I'd probably squirm a bit and try to shoo you away politely, but I'm not very good at that either. I've had someone at the door for over two hours before because they just weren't getting the hint that I wanted them to leave!
18) What was your first impression of me?
You're very inquisitive, Survey, but I like that in a person.
19) Do you think clowns are cute or scary?
I think they're cute when I'm watching them, but I'm always on edge watching them live because I'm terrified of them picking me out in the crowd as they do with people sometimes. I'm really funny about that sort of thing.
20) If you could change one thing about how you look, what would it be?
Can't I say 'everything' and be done with it? If not, I'd better start choosing between having a new face and a flat tummy. Be nice and let me have both done, please? I've been more unlucky with my genetics than most people are.
21) Would you be my crime partner or my conscience?
I'd be your conscience. I get guilty very easily, and I get worried when I think I'm doing something wrong. In other words, I'd be a terrible partner-in-crime; I'd probably end up turning myself in and accidentally getting you caught!
22) What color eyes do you have?
A despicable green-brown hazelly mix. I wish they'd fall one way or the other. At the moment they seem to be a bit undecided, and the effect is not appealing - not that anybody will be staring into my eyes any time soon!
23) Ever been arrested?
No, I have not. Not only would my parents kill me, but I think I'd be very upset.
24) Bottle or can soda?
I used to be a fan of bottles, but now cans are the perfect size for me; I can take one into a lesson at college and just as the bell rings I'll finish it. I did that today in English Literature, actually.
25) If you won $10,000 today, what would you do with it?
Keep it for university. I start next year, and the extra money would be really useful!
26) What's your favorite place to hang out at?
My bedroom. I don't like anybody else being in there; it's a real sanctuary.
27) Do you believe in ghosts?
Yes, I do. I'd love to have a real supernatural experience; the closest I've been to having one is during a visit to a 'high-activity' castle. Me and my dad were standing in a room that only we were occupying; all the windows were closed, and there wasn't a draught. The rope moved ever so slightly, but it was in quite an obvious way; looked deliberate, anyway.
28) Favorite thing to do in your spare time?
I'm a writer; I think that much is obvious! Sorry; I'll answer the question properly now. I write - short stories, serials, roleplaying posts. Anything. I'm also a big reader.
29) Do you swear a lot?
Yes, a fair bit. I don't swear at people, though. I swear at situations. It's when people swear at each other that I begin to find it offensive - though there's one word I really can't stand to hear, let alone say. We'll call it the c-word and be done with it.
30) Biggest pet peeve?
I have a few. The first that comes to mind? Liars. I can't stand being lied to. You tell me the truth, and I'll pay you the same respect.
31) In one word, how would you describe yourself?
'Oddball'. I know it's quite a common thing for teenagers to think, but I'm really quite convinced I don't think in the same way as most people my age do. My friends are often confused at the way I think things through and the conclusions I come to.
32) Do you believe/appreciate romance?
I do; I believe in it very much. I've never had the occasion to appreciate it for myself, though.
33) Favourite and least favourite food?
Lots of my favourite foods start with the letter C - crisps (British ones; I think lots of countries say potato chips?), cookies, chips, chocolate. My least favourite food is cheese; even just the smell makes me feel incredibly nauseous. I do have a very sensitive gag reflex. This is quite a boring answer; I apologise.
34) Do you believe in God?
No, I don't. I don't believe in religion, either. I don't mean to offend anybody who does have a faith - you're quite welcome to it. Personally, however, I think it's unnecessary; it is to me, anyway. I don't feel that having a faith would enrich my life in any way, and I don't feel that you have to be religious to have moral values. It's an argument I'm happy to have, but at the moment I won't bore you with it.
35) Will you repost this so I can fill it out and do the same for you?
I'm just about to repost it, and I invite everybody who's managed to read to the end to do the same. I'd be interested to read your answers.
