Last night, John and I heard two owls from inside our house. I've been hearing them a lot lately. I told John that I was going to go outside to try and see them. John declined because he didn't want to disturb them. I said something like, "That's like not wanting to disturb a pigeon ( Read more... )

That's so cool! I've never seen an owl in the wild.

I saw tons of fox poop all over our trails yesterday, though. I kept swerving around pile after pile with the stroller, cursing whoever isn't cleaning up after their damned dog! Then it dawned on me that all of this poop had seeds and "roughage" in it. There is a den of foxes in the hood, so it has to be their poop! I share this here because you're the only person I know who would probably find it interesting and cool. lol.

LMAO! Thank you for sharing your fox poop story! Yes, I do find it interesting and cool. Although I would still be mad about the poop because the fox have the whole forest (field, neighbors' yards) to poop in, why do they have to do it on the trails? I see coyote poop on our trails. It usually has a lot of fur in it.

This is making me giggle.

Yeah, there's a big dry canal on one side of the trail and a grassland preserve/habitat on the other. Yet they all poop on the path! It's probably a territorial marking thing, but still. The Toyota dealership provided poo bag dispensers on our trails recently. Those foxes really should clean up after themselves!

A month or so ago, I saw a fox trotting down the sidewalk past our house. It freaked me out because it was the middle of a Saturday afternoon. I've only seen them early in the morning and from a good distance.
