Oh my freaking gosh Radio 1's Big Weekend was amazing! [/schoolgirl] Seriously the most amazing experience, the atmosphere was electric, the day was beautiful, each and every one of the artists fantastic.

Paulo Nutini - Watch out for this guy, thought when I first saw a pic that he was going to be another James Bl(c)unt type. How wrong was I? Songs with the same sense of humour of the Kooks and Artic Monkeys and a voice that could smooth you up a new cabinet. I shall be buying the album and listening to it, I shall.

Corrine Bailey Rae - She totally surprised me, after only really hearing her Girl Put the Records On I'd written her off as part of the many-shades-of-bland going on in the easy listening charts at the moment. What she has is the heart of soul diva just waiting to burst out of her sweet little shell. So damned chilled. And yes, the album will be bought.

Gnarls Barkley - God that man has class! He was rockin in his psych ward pjs! His voice just hits the right spot and 'Crazy' was one of the best moments of the night. Left after 4 songs, apparently because he overheard a BBC employee saying "We'll be OK once the fat bloke starts singing".

Orson - Was dissapointed at first because I thought the 'twat in a hat' (lead singer) was wearing a different hat than usual, but was relieved to find that it was one of the guitarists. Cheery californian Pop-Rock, kept up the party atmosphere from Gnarls.

Razorlight - Always liked this band although never really got into them heavily. They had the crowd eating out the palm of their hand throughout. Stumble and Fall and Up All Night had everyone chanting along. New material sounded spiffing, some successful alterations in style.

Muse - OH MY STARS AND GARTERS THEY WERE FRIKKKKKEN FANTASTIC. From the first beat, the first visceral taste of the guitar I was in heaven. This Band has been one of my favourites for years and to see them totally blowing the canvas off the tent was incredible. When the piano for sunburn broke in I thought my face was about to split from smiling so much, hehe. For me the defining moment of the day, just because I love Matt, Dom and Chris so much. New material from the next album is so different, but I think I like it, bit more funky, less anthemic, but with such style that they can be forgiven for breaking away from 'classic Muse'. These guys deserve more respect!

The Streets - Mike Skinner made me cry! Something about hearing a song and actually thinking about the lyrics and the context for the first time. Never Went to Church is about his reaction to his dad dying, "Hope I made you proud" *sob*. Fit But You Know It and When You Wasn't Famous, totally anthemic tunes and created the most incredible buzz.

Mylo - Some pounding beats, good bit of Rock and Roll destruction going on, kept the atmosphere going through the changeover, although it would've been nice to have seen the guys who were setting up the stage give Mylo a bit more respect.

Snow Patrol - Madness, absolute Madness. So damn good. From Chocolate, through to Run and the new single You're All That I Have (god the singing, the massive mentalness of it all, tingles). One of the new tracks Hands Open has cemented itself as a favourite if only for the fact you could pick up the words so easily, hehe. The boys were absolutely loving playing to their 'home crowd' (they were students in Dundee when they formed). Gary Lightbody was such a showman and had a massive grin on his face throughout.

So yeah, quite a good way to spend a day all things considered methinks haha! Saw two fights involving the same couple, one insanely drugged up woman who just kept falling over, and got kicked in the head by a guy who was trying to crowd surf but forgot to mention that he was coming, nice little cut on my head to remind me of that hehe. Just wish I could be there for the second day now. My first taste of live music, and I think I'm addicted already.
