The fact that I'm just about to go do the same kinda thing on wax_lyrical might worry you as well then...

That's all well and good, but I think a pineapple would probably be a better choice than the crocodile.

Aww, I almost cried! Damn you!

In fact, the fact i can still a.) read that and b.) understand it wiothout a dictionary proves my Russian hasn't dropped off half as much as I thought it had.

Good luck back home!

Aww no, how awful! This is why I'm glad all mine's on CD I suppose...

My Russian probably was better because they were the 'we teach foreigners' teachers at SPb. And they were a lot more experienced with English people, too (not necessarily meaning their English was any good). Sorry I scared you! But yours'll be a lot better than mine, which is probably good as I wanted to concentrate on German more (not that it's helped much, at least, I don't feel it has, but like I said, beyond caring now!). Good luck with stuff! And I'm assuming you managed to fit everything in that you needed?

I'm confused... I think thats a translation on the bottom... It sounds very sweet and meaningful. I think the Russians aren't as succinct as the clumsy english.

lol. no, the first bit is my mourning leaving Russia and thinking of everything she's done for me, and the second bit is a fragment from Semisonic's 'Closing Time', because that was the song I had in my head, and how i felt.

Russians are about as sweet as acorns ;P Raw acorns (as I've not tried then cooked).

Meaningful, though, yes. Less succinct, depends... Genitive case removes the need for 'of' every five minutes...

ok, no problem.

by the way, i know it's a pain, and i'm sorry, but it would be great if you could send me those little bells i bought in Russia. they should be in one of the drawers of that tiny chest of drawers you had sitting on your bookshelf in your room. if you could, i'll pay the postage into your bank account, or you could just drop them in Nottingham next time you're up, which would be great, i'd really appreciate it.

hope all's ok with you. Rach
