That first patch after Christmas is usually a chance to skate off all the festive over-indulgence, and start serious work on plans for the new year. But this year it hasn't quite worked out. Oh my poor one. Huge hugs (but gentle ones!) from both of us. Do be very careful - shingles can be a very nasty thing indeed, and overdoing things while you have a virus can lead to even nastier things.

I am so glad you aren't in much pain - it can be so painful. Our last vicar had it once and was off for over three months.

I don't have shingles, but the virus I had at the beginning of December has left my stamina still very depleted.

Hugs are fine - it's only on my face, and mostly it's irritable rather than painful. Luckily, it seems to be fairly mild (at least at the moment). And I'm not due back to work till Wednesday anyway, but might well take the rest of the week off if I'm still struggling with early mornings by then.

So sorry about the shingles and Annabel is right about taking it easy. My brother had it, didn't rest up as much as he should have and had real trouble shaking it off.

Hope you start to feel better soon.
